We brought the 5 attractions pass online to go to the aquarium but were not going to go to the zoo as we thought it was the big zoo across the harbor and didn't think we would have time, we were pleasantly surprised to see the wild life zoo was on Darling Harbour!! We had a great few hours spent... More

Great for a day out in Sydney, lots of furry and not so furry creatures to look at or touch if you feel so inclined. We saw crocodiles, koalas, kangaroos, snakes, lizards, wombats, Tassie devils, birds and butterflies :-) We had a nice lunch up at the Koala sanctuary, service was a tad slow but the food was good when... A very small zoo down at Darling harbor. Shows a snapshot of Australian animals. You can walk thru less than an hour. You have a chance to pet the kangaroo

Booked a 2 hour guided tour with a member of the Taronga zoo staff, Becky. Highly recommend this tour thru Viator. My husband and I boarded the ferry in the morning for the 12 min. ride to the zoo. The morning was spent touring the various animal habitats and then at 2pm we began the tour with Becky. She gave... More

If you are well acquainted with Australian wild life like we are, this attraction is ordinary. We still enjoyed it but I would not be rushing back. This is great for overseas visitors who would like to encounter the Aussie wild life. Perfectly located. I would purchase the x5 bulk attraction package to make this a reasonable buy.

We visited this attraction one the day after visiting the Toranga Zoo across the harbor from the Opera House. Maybe if we had visited this first it would have made more of an impression. It's difficult to bring scenes from the wild into a building but it was OK as far as they could manage such a feat. In addition... More

Hi Overthehill79, Thankyou for your review, It is great to hear you had the chance to visit so many zoo's around Australia. We are indeed very different to other zoo's, Taronga houses exotic animals like Elephants and Giraffes, whereas, if you wish to see a wide variety of unique Australian animals right in the heart of the city, Wildlife Sydney... Love the wild life walk through! There is a lot to see and learn about! The crocodile enclosure was amazing, you can get up close with the croc (behind glass) which was scary but awesome! Would recommend, especially for tourists and children!

I had actually selected to visit the Taronga Zoo and for some reason the website malfunctioned and issued me tickets for Wild Life Sydney Zoo. We had come for the weekend to visit Sydney and I had never been before. Upon arrival to Taronga Zoo we were informed the tickets emailed to me were not the correct ones (I had... More

I'm so glad we woke up early for this little adventure. Awesome to have the zoo to yourself with a small group before it opens to the public around 10am. We went through most he exhibits quickly to get to the kangaroos and koalas. Zoe was our guide and she was awesome. Very knowledgeable and fun. We got to go... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
