Neighborhood: Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. We were just walking by, saw the sign $12 steak and schooner and thought why not. Sitting is either at bar or upstairs which are very steep. My husband opted for the $12 special and said it was great, he is a fussy steak eater. I opted for salad and skewers typical pub food. Nice to see you can still eat cheap in Sydney recommended to son who is a uni student.
Place is noisy but it was happy hour, upstairs is quieter but very limited seating. Service was OK nothing fancy, it was a pub after all.

We looked for something different for tea & stumbled across this pub.
The food was lovely & great value.
The steak was cooked to perfection.
The staff were friendly too.
So good we went back 😀

Wow....Only $16 for a great pub meal with a middy...and it's in the city! Great Steak! Great Schnitty! Awesome garlic bread! Highly enjoyable soloist performing; she had a beautiful voice and a good selection of songs! Enjoyed a nice Sunday evening there!

Disappointed
Booked a table here last Saturday night and when we arrived there was no table ready and staff didn't seem to know about the booking. This was annoying when I had booked it two weeks ago. We were eventually seated up stairs after re-arranging the tables and then there wasn't much room to move with the pool tables. The meals were just ok fish was over cooked and a mistake was made with one meal.
Wasn't a great start to night out to the theatre.

Pretty sure we won't be back.

Enjoyed a nice quiet middle aged night at a restaurant with friends. At around 10 we went on to find a bar and came to the haymarket. But my friend was weirdly refused entry and accused of bring drunk. It didn't look all that nice inside so I can only assume that rowdiness and a rough crowd must be a problem for them? Luckily a taxi picked us up and we drove on to a far nicer bar which was happy to let us in.

Unfortunately the vip lounge has become overrun with spectators and people hitting the machine buttons as hard as they can and as often as they can.
The staff around don't really seem to mind. That said it's not uncommon to find that.

Great spot for lunch with steak and beer for just $13 service was quick and the beer nice and cold. With a tab about to open offers a good getaway in the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Highly recommend
