Watson's Bay and Doyles are synonymous. Try the fish and chips at Doyles on the Beach a century old joint.

I was back at Watsons Bay today after a couple of decades. I took the Ferry from Circular Quay which stopped first at Garden Island. Good weather for a walkabout which included the South Head Heritage Trail, Robertson Park, et al before drinks and lunch. One can see lovely old houses and understand the historical significance of Watsons Bay. Great... More

Yes... it feels like the end point of the earth... Awesome place... There's nothing else beyond this point (You feel this)... It had a good pub also, which was quite happening and good crowd and music. The best part of Watson bay was the viewing point in the end from where you can see the entire ocean... A serene place... We took a ferry from Circular Quay to Watson's Bay and reminded ourselves how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful city. This area has everything, excellent beaches, a pub, numerous formal and casual dining options, (you can't beat Doyle's takeaway fish and chips while sitting under a palm tree), the walk out to the nearby lighthouse and... Watsons Bay is another must do if ever visiting Sydney if only to taste the fish & chips from Doyle's. You can arrive by bus but it is very long and arduous (40 min plus!) or by ferry which is by far the nicest and most scenic way. The Bay is very pretty with boats moared nearby and some very... Caught the ferry to go to Watsons Bay for lunch. After lunch ended up walk around the bay in beautiful weather there were plenty of people there but it wasn't crowded. We walked up to the Gap and around the headland for a great view of the heads. We are ex Sydney siders so the views of the harbour and... More

We went to have lunch and ended up having dinner. The restaurant that we wanted to eat at closes at 3:00 and doesn't reopen until 5:00. No worries we had a walk around and a drink next door. Not a lot to do but worth a visit.

We were expecting a nice beach with a view of the bay. The beach is extremely small and the bay can be viewed from the park anyway. The best part about this place is the ferry ride to get there.

As iconic as ever, the beaches were clean and covered in gulls looking for morsels of food to eat. Some nice photo opportunities at sunset.
