This was a wonderful experience. Emily engaged very beautifully with us, often asking our preferences (for shade/sun or hearing/seeing or going uphill or not). The hour and a half rushed past, I learned a lot and mostly just enjoyed spending time in the area with someone who is connected to it, has devoted a lot of time to learning about it, and was fully there to share some of that knowledge with us.

Wow, what a beautiful experience for our family and visitors to Australia. We spent time with Amanda who was gracious in sharing some of her people’s stories. It further opened our minds and hearts to learn more about the spiritual connection of First Nations to Mother Earth and more. We loved every minute of it, and are still talking and remembering snippets of information that we were lucky enough to hear. Thank you Amanda, we loved your spirit, your knowledge and the calm of your truth-telling. If you enjoy understanding more about the places you visit, more than seeing bright lights and gathering surface information - this is the tour for you. We would come back tomorrow in the hope of listening more if we could.

Aunty Margret is an amazing guide and delivers an authentic telling of First Nations history including natural elements from the environment on the tour path, as well as incorporating and telling the stories of significant places and monuments around Sydney. I went for educational purposes as part of a group of college students coming from America, and I appreciated her candid telling of aboriginal history. I enjoyed hearing both her life’s story and what brought her to share her culture and educate others.
Overall amazing experience, with personal and educational storytelling that is engaging to the audience. Would highly recommend!

We went on this tour as a family with teenage boys. The tour guide Donna was welcoming and knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about Indigenous culture and practices. She was also very considerate about making sure everyone was included in the discussions.

I was one of two people who attended this 90 minute story telling adventure. Our guide was delightful, in spite of the rain. She was from a multi-generational Aboriginal family and sprinkled her story with many interesting insights. She showed us things an average tourist would walk by and miss, like the shoreline markers from 1800’s; the original docking area under a hotel, where the tide flows in and out; tree and stone carvings from previous generations, and various uses from the trees and plants that made food, shelter and wellness for her people.

The history of The Aboriginal People is soulful, intimate, and enlightening. Amanda, our guide, told the history thru her heart and heritage. The awareness of my own shortcomings about Mother Earth were drawn from this tour. The art of this culture tells a story! Amanda, thank you, again! PS. Amanda, Hope you enjoy your painted rock. 😁
Hope you enjoy your tour as much as we did.

An incredible experience which all visitors to Sydney should participate. It provides the important context to the place in which they are visiting, by the traditional custodians of these lands. The stories and knowledges shared impacted our perspectives as we continue our visit to Gadigal country. Our guide was Emily and she was fantastic!

My husband and I absolutely loved Emily and the Aboriginal Heritage 90-minute tour. Emily was personable and shared her own history with our group, leaving us with a personal connection to the Aboriginal past and present in Australia. We left the tour with a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture, experiences and traditions. Emily was easy to understand and ask questions of. She also did a great job keeping us in the shade and limiting our walking on a very hot summer day. Would recommend this tour to any and all visiting Sydney.

Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. While the guide was lovely and welcoming, the information provided was quite vague. For a group of visitors from abroad with little prior knowledge (the reason they joined the tour), the lack of depth and clarity in the explanations left more questions than answers.

The tour was advertised as 1.5 hours but ended 30 minutes early, with the guide leaving us at the markets. While the markets were nice, I’m fairly certain the group would have much preferred to spend that time learning more, particularly by going down to the bridge to see and learn about it in its intended context.

Overall, the experience felt it lacked the depth we were hoping for to truly understand and appreciate the Aboriginal history and culture of Sydney.
