When I lived in Sydney almost 20 years ago, I used to walk through the long boring tunnel all the time. Now it has been renovated and there are more shops - there is a great bargain bookstore at the rail side. The buskers are still there - some better than others...

Finally upgraded the board it's more easy to see and is massive a old colonial building with the old morgue stop just up a bit. Also when you arrive from airport is where you'll come to before taking further transport from there to ferries buses are at side and light rail has a stop at country train section . Being... More

One of the old 19th century style sandstone buildings you'll find dotted around the city is this lovely place. Being a public and active train station means you can mooch around and enjoy the architecture. Vaulted ceilings and exquisite sandstone masonry show cases this building beautifully. Now if you're a traveler, know that this section (vaulted and sandstoney) is the... More

A almost 3 hours train ride to Central station. I've been to Sydney and Central many many times throughout my life. This visit there were hardly any stores open in the station itself, due to some renovations? Toilets are always very very very busy and the lineup can be outrageous. There use to be a hungry jacks and a krispy... More

We love Central. It's easy to get in and out of the Qatari on now with opal cards. We give each kid their own Opal card and they walk through without dramas. We flew into Sydney and caught the train to Central. Trains and platforms all very clean. We usually stay close to central as it's close to places we... More

We arrived at 1130 on a very hot 40 degree Sydney day to catch the Indian Pacific. there is not a lot in the station. We walked nearby and found a middle eastern style café behind the Adina Hotel. Great place to wait until you can go onto the platform at 1.00 pm. Passengers on the Indian Pacific receive welcome... More

The station is one of the main train stations in Sydney. We found it to be well laid out with good signage.

Central Railway Station is another beautiful place to visit in Sydney. It shows the historical and unique side of Sydney that you wont find in a lot of other places.

Very clean and easily accessible from many locations in the city. Light rail is also present to make travel around Sydney that much easier. Opal card is accepted and easily refilled at a number of locations. Krispy Kreme is also present which gives it a little taste of home.

For travelers to Sydney, you will definitely not miss this place and somehow you will pass by it (either by walk, bus, coach, tram or even the train). For us, the station is just a good 7-min walk from our hotel and we came by this station several times throughout our stay for the day tours' pickup services. From the... More
