We thoroughly enjoyed the big seats, the world's biggest screen and digital sound system showing the current excellent episode of 007

I havent been to watch a movie at the iMax in years. When we arrived we were a bit concerned as it was sold out for Spectre 007 and we are used to going to movies in the Gold Class where there is a ton of space and not too many people. We still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The movie... More

The good: location, big screen, clean environment. The bad: No loyalty program(no free tickets and popcorn), a bit expensive. Students get discounts doe. Design of building and sign is boring. Still better than Hoyts and Event cinemas.

seats are super cramped up and really not comfy. Everyone is just packed in as sardines - the tickets are not cheap - about $35-40 and yes it is a big 3d screen but better go get yourself some comfy seats in a good Events or Hoytts and upgrade to the best seats - that will be more enjoyable. The... More

The screen! The sound! It really makes one feel like one is in the movie and not just watching it. Normally don't like 3D but at the Imax, it's really something else.

Just like the title says, The best films to see at Imax are the ones in 3D. These films really make your experience at Imax really worthwhile. The best films i enjoy there are Nature, Documentaries and some films. Be sure to pre book your ticket if is a popular showing so you can sit together and obtain a good... More

Went to Imax twice in the end. The screen is truly spectacular. The steepness of the cinema is eye opening. Back two rows are the best I’d say. At the middle of the back row there’s a break in the seats. I went mid week both times, first time there were maybe 10 people in the whole cinema and the... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
