This is a stunning spot for a day at the beach! Manly has always been our favourite beach until we walked around to this little gem. It is perfect for swimming away from the surf yet all of Manly's amazing amenities are right there. Get there early on a beautiful day so you can secure a good spot. You can... More

It´s a quiet place, at least when i was there. The waves are quiet small, so maybe is ideal for the kids with an adult supervision.

Shelly Beach is one of most pleasant experiences I have had. Camping out and seeing the sun set. then awaking to the sound of the water, birds and then running down for sunrise on the beach. I highly recommend a visit!

Nice beach, not too crowded, has cafe and kiosk, clean toilets and is worth taking your snorkel to. Can be driven to or reached by ferry. Parking tight.

Shelly beach is a sheltered ocean beach, you can ever walk around from Manly or park in the carpark above on the headland. A lovely spot for a swim, walking or a meal. You can picnic or visit the Boathouse.

Love walking to and from Shelly Beach. It's a great area to practice paddle boarding and to just chill. The view from Shelly Beach is amazing to see on a good day.

From Manly beach you can take a short walk to this small yet beautiful beach. There is also a restaurant out there right at this beach. You will get a scenic view of Manly beach from this location. If you love trekking, you can go up to the top of a rocky cliff from this spot. It is a greatly... More

A ten-minute walk from Manly Beach, Shelly Beach is a small and charming beach, where you can enjoy swimming or scuba diving (operators in commercial Manly). Facilities such as barbies, toilets, showers and a kiosk.

Shelly Beach is around Marine Parade from its big brother Manly Beach. Generally more protected and not a crowded as Manly, its a great family beach with nice clean sand.

Staying in Manly

Neighborhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbor Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
