The best part of walking through the Royal Botanic Gardens in City was the amazing view of the Sydney Opera House and the bridge. Quite possibly one of the best views we found. The gardens themselves were beautiful and well kept. What a lovely stroll through a park.

A very child friendly play held in the beautiful grounds of the Sydney Botanic Gardens. Take a blanket, a picnic, some children, a group of great actors and the beautiful natural back drop of the main pond in the gardens, just perfect for Ratty's punting on the river and you have the Wind in the Willows. Some up to date... More

Always open to the public, the gardens are worth an unhurried walk. The trees are grand, flowers in the right season are attractive. Well kept and a terrific place to find wedding photos being taken.

I'm used to botanical gardens where there're less green lawn than plant areas. This was a lot of lawns and a few areas with plants and yes the plants was beautiful, but disappointing for me.

Considering the bustle of Sydney right on its door step, the gardens are amazingly tranquil. The huge area available for walking, picnicking or just chilling out is beautiful and you can very easily lose track of time. The cafe has an excellent range of hot and cold snacks and serves good coffee! The range of plants and wildlife, plus the... More

We walked through the gardens late in the day on a winters afternoon and were amazed at the layout and appeal of the gardens. All the sections had something to look at. Great design leads around the sections. Even as a confirmed non gardener, I was impressed. As an added bonus people were hand feeding cockatoos allowing an opportunity to... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
