Neighborhood: Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.

We took a bus to Bondi beach from Sydney, only cost us $3. It is an iconic beach both for its sands and sharks. The sand is fabulous, if a little hard to walk on. Parking is good with plenty around. The surf was fabulous

Nice beach. It was not crowded the day we went. It was part of a tour we did of Sydney. We had lunch at a restaurant located on the beach and later relaxed here for a short while. The sand was soft, and the water temperature was okay. I'm not a surfer, so I can't address that aspect. Overall, it was a nice beach, but nothing exceptional.
What DID work? I don't generally like beer, but the restaurant waiter suggested one popular in Australia (Bundaberg ginger beer) and I loved it! I have found it here at home!

Omg delicious best meal in Bondi to date
We had the sharing lamb with lots of sides of veg. Delicious the meat was so tender, meat melted in our mouth - obviously a great cut of meat and cooked to perfection. Washed down with a Pinot noir. Great service and then to add to our experience live music. Great night

Unfortunately I went there when the weather was at its worst! Torrential rain! However, that didn’t stop me from seeing the amazing view and despite the nsw gov warning to avoid water sports, there were still lots of surfers. Definitely will visit there again when the weather is better but A MUST VISIT. Take the train to Bondi Junction and catch bus 333 or 380 (u will see the beach and you can stop at any bus stop along the beach). First time in Sydney and the people and place is just beautiful.

Bondi beach with its vast stretch of beach and families, nippers, and surfers are amazingly beautiful.
There’s real difference between north and south shore of beach. At present one side sits iconic restaurants and cafes, others have North Bondi surf club.
An easy way to spend time together, bring your chair, beach towel, and please watch out surfers and stingrays, or else Bondi patrol will come to rescue.
A breathtaking and beautiful place, Bondi Beach.

We walked to bondi beach from potts point. Great walk and bondi was nice. Good restaurants and good changing/shower/beach facilities. We hired an umbrella and 2 x loungers for $35 for 4 hours which was a lot but worth it. Was expecting a more picturesque beach but it was pretty standard. It was a nice day but wouldn't rush back.

Was at Bondi Beach late afternoon and it was great not crowded enough room where your not sitting on top of each other, highly recommend visiting the beach later in the day in summer. The was was really warm and clean. With a dinner on the grass area viewing Bondi turning into evening was breath taking.

Are you sure if you were there on a Sunday to go to the Bondi market great experience if you like flea markets and small vendor foods

The beach is well connected from the city using Bus and Rail.
The views on the way are amazing. The walkway has beautiful laid back feel with all kinds of restaurants and activity wear shops dominating the streets.
The beach was very clean, people were minding their own business. As it was the cold season so not many people were in water and we observed that helicopters hovering to monitor the people in waters inciting them to return to the sand.
The water was clear blue but the waves were high. Probably that is the reason this place is famous for surfing. It would be necessary to look over young children here.

Bondi is the iconic Sydney beach, and it’s a lot of fun. The retaining walls have wonderfully colorful art painted by local artists, there are plenty of concessions, showers, and changing rooms, it’s easily reached by public transportation, and you can surf, swim, sunbathe, or sit in the shade of a rental umbrella as you like. And, if you like crowds of nearly naked folks sitting, surfing and sunbathing within inches of you, it’s the place to go. I prefer secluded, pristine beaches, so Bondi’s charms were limited for me. It’s a scene, fun to watch, not a place I’d want to stay.

Take your choice of the small brasseries, all the souvenir shops are the same. If you have forgotten something then you will find it along the stretch.

Hi, No you cannot visit the tower as it is for emergencies only but if you are lucky you may catch the lifeguards on patrol on the beach - they are more than happy to stop for a photo. Hope this helps

Is there a public locker room for getting changed/storing personal items near the beach?

Yes there is a full beach changing house. I did not verify lockers, but it would be unusual not to have them. Usually lockers cost $2 Aus, should make sure you have a few 2$ coins

I’m looking at visiting bondi in the next few weeks. What are the conditions, weather and how busy is it’s bondi at the end of March/beginning of April???

Sydney weather is unpredictable but it wont be cold even if it rains. More humid and steamy, with maybe cooler evenings. Bondi is one of Australias most popular beaches and of course the show Bondi Rescue is on TV so would suggest you have a look at TV before you get here.Weather is Getting cooler so not as busy unless we get a sudden hot day which can happen 30c hot is around 25c average great temperature. Lots of places to eat, pubs, cafes and RSL club at the end of beach called North Bondi is great for food and view from balcony is fantastic, especially sunsets. Two pools at this end if surf is too rough.
