If you avoid the weekend, you will avoid the crowds. This is one of many amazing beaches with so many things to do, including soaking up the sun. Surprisingly both rentals and do it yourself options and lessons are quite affordable. Parking is at a minimum so we would suggest taking public transportation. The 380 bus from the city will... Although we hesitated to go, since we have seen Manly beach, we liked it a lot. I believe it is a must see location. The transport is so easy, you can take a bus with your opal card.

Great place to go by bus from Sydney Harbour. The bus ride allows you to see stops along the way. Beautiful beach with great walking trail. Yummy yummy fresh seafood along the street.

Bondi beach is a beautiful beach with a great laid back vibe of cafes and restaurants surrounding it. There is also some great shopping with boutique stores along Gould St. Bondi has over the years become a very busy place and parking is becoming a bit of a nightmare down there. To be honest there are much nicer beaches in... More

Park areas along the beach make for shade and great people watching. At the end of the beach is a club where you can look back at the beach and along the coast while you have some food and drink. People also swim in the salt water pool on the ocean. For good swimmers the Bay is nice to swim... More

Bondi is probably the most well known and popular beach. It's worth a stop. On warm days, there can be thousands on the beach and there are lots of water activities going on from surfing and swimming to sup and kayaking. Across the street from the beach are a fair number of art deco style houses. At a minimum, the... More

I visited on a sunny evening and the beach was empty. The whole atmosphere was relaxed and easy going. The shops close by are also interesting and expensive.

My daughter and I caught the 380 bus from the city which took us through Paddington and Bondi junction on the way to Bondi Beach - great way to get there as it is as much sight seeing as a commute We walked headland point to point both by the beach and via shops - it was a brilliant day... More

Even in what was the cusp of Winter/Spring, Bondi Beach was a must see location. The surfers, though few, were out and helped it live up to an Aussie surfer vibe. The pacific ocean seems infinite from the sands and the shopping near by is both boho and touristy without being too much of either. The Bondi walk wasn't accessible... More

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighborhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
