Just jump off the Manly Ferry and turn left to go on this 10k walk. Takes you through suburbs, city parks, the Sydney Harbor National Park, and down to Spit. Moderate hike; don't do this in sandals. Bus available at end of walk to take you back to the Manly Ferry.

The Manly walkway is similar to others that I took, the difference being that it's a much more moderate walk overall with few steep climbs or challenging grades. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for something more leisurely. It's a well traveled walk from walkers to joggers to bikers. The path is wide enough for all.

We hired a tandem bike to go around Manly and was a great idea (except the hills) We had fun, team work, bonding, trust building and all this was great BUT the views were much better, how amazing! We had a great time.

The walkway is not bad. Typical coastal view, though. Lots of dogs sharing the way with you makes it a dog show. Good for a fan of pets as you may decide which type is your favorite.

Perfect for a day out and a wander. Start at Spit Bridge and park your car. Lot's of free on street parking just a little up the road. Plenty of opportunity to go for a dip and/or picnic on the way. Check out the indigenous rock carvings as well!

I lived at Fairlight some decades ago, so this walk is always a trip down memory lane for me, and the view never fails to inspire and delight, no matter the weather. Sydney Harbour from any angle is a world-beater! Safe, easy walking with countless photo opportunities.

Very interesting and easy scenic road along the ocean between Manly and Shelly beaches. Unfortunately it was closed for renovation , but there is a side road between two beaches in many picturesque neighborhoods.

This was easy to get to from Circular Quay by taking the Manly ferry and then walking out past the beach. Easy trail to spot and the cliffs and views were breathtaking. Give yourself a few hours to take this walk

Staying in Manly

Neighborhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbor Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
