My wife & I had been wanting to do this walk for years & last Saturday we finally did, starting out from The Spit. It was a relatively easy 3 hour walk for us, but you could add an extra hour if you stopped at 1 or 2 of the beaches along the way for a swim. There are a few steep parts along the well established path but there are many places to stop for a breather & or to take in the views. Our highlight was discovering the historic Crater Cove huts. And Manly makes a great finish line with all its eateries & watering holes as your reward. As for getting back to The Spit - easy peasy as a bus stop was across the road from the wharf & the ride took 10 minutes.

Hi Phil-Joel Congratulations! It is such a great walk and you have summarised it brilliantly. Thank you! And included brilliant tips such as catching the 144 from Stand G back to Spit Bridge. Next time you visit Manly, make sure you pop into the Manly Visitor Information Centre to pick up a copy of a free map of this walk. Best regards

Hi Sandy B Thank you so much for your 5* review of the Manly Scenic Walkway - it is a fantastic 10km walk which can either be started at Spit Bridge or from Manly Wharf itself. There are wonderful beaches along the way and beautiful angophoras forests where you can feel a million miles away from the City. Make sure you pop in to the Manly Visitors Centre, located at Manly Wharf, to collect your free map of the area (and walk!) and gather some local tips. Look forward to seeing you back here again one day soon. Best regards

Allow yourself the day to fully enjoy and appreciate this walk. I arrived at Spit bridge around 1pm, stopped at one of the small quiet beaches for a dip in the water for around 90 mins and finally arrived at Manly wharf at 7:15pm. I felt I could have done more if I arrived earlier and enjoyed more of the hidden sights, but I was pretty happy with the journey and finished perfectly with the sunset while I was travelling back to Circular Quay. Bring a backpack and come prepared; 1 litre water bottle, some snacks, sunscreen, swimwear, different set of clothes if weather changes, powerbank, headphones and most importantly some sturdy but comfortable shoes. This is such a rewarding and picturesque walk and I would happily do it again. One of the best things you can do in Sydney.

Hi S4nnyBunny So glad you enjoyed the Spit Bridge to Manly Walk and thanks for the great tips! Another fantastic walk in Manly is the shorter walk from Manly to Shelly Beach. This twenty minute walk begins at Manly Surf Club and hugs the coastline all the way to Shelly Beach. Along the way you will pass the historic Fairy Bower baths and eleven unique sculptures which will give you an insight into Cabbage Tree Bay’s unique marine life, plants, animals, history and attractions. This flat walk is suitable for people of all ages and disabilities. Best regards

There were fabulous views again last summer and from this perspective it rekindles memories of a kinder, gentler pre-Pandemic time. Our photos were stunning last year- endless vistas of azure-tinged seas.

There are not that many places in the world where one can stroll for quite a while along a shoreline as pretty as this - and all for free! The walk from Shelley Beach all the way to Manly Beach is a joy. The walkway is wide so you are not close to people as they pass you by - a necessity in these COVID times. There are plenty of benches to sit on and contemplate the wonders of nature in front of you. There are also plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat both on the Shelly Beach side and the Manly Beach side.

Hi WellTravelledAussie 2 Thank you so much for taking the time to write a 5* review of the Manly Scenic Walkway. It certainly is a spectacular spot to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve. Did you know that it is equally stunning from below as well? There are a myriad of wonderful sea creatures ranging from Eagle Rays to Blue Gropers beneath the blue waters, and if you are extremely lucky, you may come across a Green Leatherback Turtle or curious Cuttlefish. Look forward to seeing you back in Manly again one day! Best regards
