We walk from Spit Bridge to Manly for 3 hours..the route is along the waterfront. We walk in the forest , on the sand of the sea , between large rocks. There are many steps. The landscape is amazing.you can stop and sit in one of the many beaches on the way.alow 3-4 hours of walking.

It does take a while to walk along a the path, so take a bottle of water. There are a few stops to get water. Choose a sunny day to get get the best views and experience. A map is helpful to keep you walking in the general direction. The track can be a bit confusing at times and it... More

This must be one of the best iconic walks in Sydney! Good for a stroll, a brisk walk or a jog with nice views along the way.

Beautiful walk amongst spectacular scenery. Safe and secure. Plenty of photo opportunities and places just to sit and enjoy the view. Would do it every weekend if I lived there.

Really stunning walk, put on your joggers, bring your camera and some water- it's fabulous. A must see for tourists but also great for locals to really see the beauty of the area they live in

This is a longish walk, 4-5 hours or so if you walk all the way from the Spit Bridge. A bit of scrambling over rocks is required, but nothing too strenuous. Breathtaking scenery all the way and a sense of achievement at the end. Make sure you take snacks and water, there are no shops along the route.

If you are a history buff and enjoy a bushwalk, the walk over the the old Manly quarantine station (now called q station) was really worth it. You can catch the bus back to Manly from just outside the q station.

Every year I try to make this lovely scenic walk. The 9-10 km length is suitable to most of the people with average fitness. The best way if you come from the city, to use a ferry from Circular Key to Manly. This is the place where the walkway starts or finishes. For me, Manly is the starting point, and... More

The Manly to Spit walk (or vice-versa) is probably the best activity you can do once you've experienced the main city attractions in Sydney. It's a 10 km walk which takes about 2 - 3 hrs to complete at medium pace, and covers so many different terrains along the way. The beauty of the walk is that you pass through... More

Staying in Manly

Neighborhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbor Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
