This was just an hours tour but the guide Mary Ann was excellent! She was obviously highly experienced and gave a lot of insight into the history and running of the opera house. This was a tour worth doing but not for children.

As a UNESCO site, the Sydney Opera House is a must see. Although the price for a 1 hour tour is a little pricey ($39), you can get a discount by booking online. There are actually five event venues at the site. There are 2 Main theatres (Opera and Symphony) and 3 smaller, intimate theatres under the Symphony hall. There... More

First saw Sydney Opera House when it was half built as a child. Wonderful to return here to this iconic building. We visited in the evening to see Carmen, outstanding. Would highly recommend a visit when you are in the city

Yes, it is a very long flight but well worth the experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the Aussie's as they are very fun folks. If you like adventure, take the bicycle wine tour, make sure you are in shape for it and it will provide great exercise and lots of good laughs after stopping at several wineries for a small taste.

Always a feeling of awesomeness no matter how much you visit. Lovely vies and architecture design. The steps out the front always Iconic for a photo and the bridge in the background also. Nice food and bars along the water and seals rest down on the steps facing north Sydney.

Attended the Banksia Concert for my child's school performance, and totally enjoyed the show & the opera house facilities. The toilets were clean, staff knowledgeable, and beer cold. The children were also impressed with how many Pokémon-Go that they could collect. Cheapest way to get there is by train to Circular Quay. Great restaurants & pubs in the area, good... More

I had enjoyed an opera inside. Was not very much impressed. The opera house is most well-known for its appearance. Its interior doesn't match its fame.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
