My wife and I recently took the guided tour of the Sydney Opera House. It was a present to her as she is really into the arts and hasn't been before (she is Canadian.) When the tour started, we had our photos taken and booked in any oversized bags - which made a lot of sense when you saw just... More

The sights here are awe inspiring, carefree and very laid back. Food is on the expensive side, bit the atmosphere is worth it.

Went to see Carmen. Great adaption of the original. Got the feeling g performers were weary. Terrible seating as sat behind talk man. Couldn't see stage very well. Great singing.

A loss of words to have the chance to visit the Opera House. While the tour is not superbly good and informative, it is worth the money to get in and marvel at the architecture brilliance of SOH. Sydney Opera House, on its own is worth visiting Sydney for. Do take a stroll in the Botanic garden which offers a... More

The Sydney Opera House is an experience like no other. This is an absolutely unique building and there is nothing to compare it with anywhere else. This unique design is its main attraction. In some ways it makes Sydney Harbour what it is. It is a symbol not only of Sydney city but of Australia. It was built in controversy... More

The Sydney Opera House is an amazing feat of modern architecture. It's a cultural complex with several halls. There are tours daily which will give you a behind the scenes peek ... and several cafeteria style or more formal restaurants inside the complex. It's an easy couple of hours. I was lucky enough to get a good seat for Carmen,... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
