During our recent travels to Sydney, we went to the Aquarium but were disappointed. We found the layout of this place to be a bit too convoluted and it did involve a bit of walking. The sharks and such were okay but overall it was just an okay experience.

Bought 3-attractions package online. Was not putting high expectation as we had visited few larger sea aquariums in past. Thought this will be a tick on the checklist of mine, plus believe kids will enjoy it most if compared to other visitor attractions around Darling Harbour. Turned out to be a good time spent. The dugong experience was amazing and... More

Just like to express my appreciation for the great staff that helped to make our SEA Life experience a great one. The ticketing counter girls took time to help us plan our trip as well as to bring us to the glass boat station so we don't miss the last ride. There Dallas engaged us with his lively demeanour and... More

I have been at least three times this year with my son and we continue to enjoy it. More importantly they are also working hard to change and add new things.

This is one of the richest aquariums I have seen. It displays creatures I haven't seen elsewhere like Nautilus. The Dugong is also rarely seen in other places, and definitely takes a central role in the aquarium displays and activities. Also fun were the boat ride inside the cold penguin container, and the more standard shark tunnel.

Hello Bellvador, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your lovely review of your visit. I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and were interested in seeing our nautilus; these special creatures, as amazing as they are, rarely get much of a mention. We visited the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium as part of planned day's outing to all the attractions in Darling Harbour. I was a bit underwhelmed by the outside appearance of the aquarium and was not expecting much but after we got inside and began our visit I was pleasantly surprised - the old adage "don't judge a book by its... I am not normally excited about visiting acquariums but the visit To Sea Life Sydeney (@ Darling harbour and Manly beach) was a very good experience. What I enjoyed most was to see various types of sharks and manta rays in close quarters. Sea Life has taken a lot of efforts for this to be an interactive experience and the... More

Not good for people with bad knees hips. To much walking and not a lot to see. Couldnt see Dugong "Private Function". Take a look at Singapore SEA. Much better and cheaper. Like all of Sydney over priced and old.

Nice place to visit in central Sydney. Easy to find the place, close to public transport. I did surprise how the staff looking after the dugongs, feeding them every 15-20mins between 8am-8pm. My son enjoyed see sharks, fishes, and of course the dugongs. And colouring his own sharks and showing on the big screen.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
