We sailed on this ship to celebrate New Year 2016. Wow what a way to bring the New Year in with enviable views of the Opera House and the bridge with a fantastic firework display both at 9 o'clock and at mid-night. We also had a wonderful feast with plenty to drink too. the service from the ships company was... More

Used Groupon vouchers with nil problems it's a relaxing cruise with buffet but the food is limited. You can buy different packages when it comes to food and drinks. The history of the Sydney cove is very interesting and the views are great. My one gripe is if it rains it's still on! Thank goodness the weather was great when... More

Hi Roger H, Unfortunately we don't do Groupon deals on James Craig, so this may not be the same ship that you were thinking of - however you're very welcome to come out on one of our regular day sails! 1874 Tall Ship James Craig is a true restoration, not a replica and is one of only four operational barques... Purchased a random groupon for a bargin price. We chose a sun set cruise. Was wonderful drinking bubbles and bonus we got feed too. The food wast great but good considering the price. Definitely worth a visit. Note take a jumper and closed shoes. The shoes are for the toilet.

Hi Cindy M, thank you for your review but I am afraid, on this one, we did not partner with Groupon to offer our Tall Ship James Craig Sailing Adventure. But you are welcome to come and visit us at Wharf 7, Pyrmont! Cheers More

Its Australia Day and the bright blue sky is a wash with sunshine following last night's squall and rainfest. Embarking from wharf 7, Pyrmont at 10.00 am for 10.30 departure. We are anticipating some wonderful events on the harbour, like the Ferry- thon Race, Salute to Australia flypast, Red beret's parachute display, tug & yacht ballet, as well as, our... More

What a fantastic experience ! My husband and I were extremely impressed with the whole organisation. The ship is beautifully maintained, all the volunteer crew without exception were a delight: cheerful , helpful, knowledgeable and quite evidently loved what they did. Sailing around the harbour with the hundreds of other boats on Australia Day was exciting, and we really didn't... More

Had a great day out on the harbour for Australia Day on the James Craig. Amazing restoration of a 140 year old ship, and the volunteers that are the crew do an amazing job. Will definitely be doing a full day cruise on the ship in the next twelve months. The only let down was that we had to get... More

The James Craig enabled us to have the best view on the best harbour in the world for all the Australia Day activities. There was a ferry race, fly pasts from planes and our own tall ships race where we thrashed the opposition. All the crew were friendly and the ship is beautifully restored. The weather was perfect for us.... More

We decided to extend our recent cruise a couple days and catch the fireworks in Sydney. We did extensive research on places to see the fireworks and the James Craig came out on top. We were not disappointed. The staff before the event and at the event were really great, interested in showcasing their ship, and helpful with all questions.... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighborhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to DJ's. Families can visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Australian National Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
