Caompact, but packed with delight
Apr 2021
These gardens are exquisite. They have elements of Japan, and hints of islamic architecture all in a relatively tiny space. It has old and new, delightfully and sympathetically intergrated to make an oasis of golden light, reflections, charm, and playfulness. I loved the remnat octagonal columns, some in use, some left as decorative elements; i loved the mix of exotic and native flora; i loved the contemplation pool behind the arches; the new structure high overhead extends in hesitant echoes of the brick arches below.

This place is absolutely gorgeous, spend 30 mintes there and improve your entire day!

Unique Gardens in the City.
Oct 2019
The old reservoir has been transformed into a hidden gem of gardens. The gardens allow for a pleasant visit or they can be used for small gatherings.

A fascinating discovery
Nov 2019 • Solo
Like most people probably, had no idea it as here. Just opposite the Chauvel and from a difference it looked like some of the ruins in Rome
It was though a wonderful garden, a conversion of the old reservoir and such an idyllic place to relax and enjoy an escape from the nearby busy streets

Hidden gem in the city
Oct 2019
It is just took us 10 minutes to walk through. It is well hidden and a good way to escape the busyness of the city. If you are in Paddington, do not miss it. And if you have time in your hand and if you like the sun, there are chairs in the lawn outside. You can enjoy some time with alone or with friends. It is a place where you would go to relax.

Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

A small subterranean garden just off a busy street, it’s a great example of converting the use of an old industrial site whilst maintaining the historical significance. When we visited they had an art installation of cycle related photographs. Well worth a look if you’re in the area. Sadly, not much seating though and an underground area is no accessibly (can only be viewed through a gate).

Calm oasis in busy Sydney - well worth the visit
Sep 2019
Went here with my son (who studies landscape architecture) on a weekend in Sydney. The gardens are small but really beautiful and a very clever use of the former reservoir buildings. Really tranquil on a sunny Sunday morning.

A Sunken Garden Once A Historic Reservoir
Aug 2019
The reservoir was built between 1864 and 1868 to supply Sydney with water sourcing it from the Botany Swamps. It operated between 1866 and 1899. The area had been a gas station and a storage and in 2001 was made into a sunken garden. Worth a look as it was in interesting look back on history. Not sure about the water quality.
