About
The Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust is responsible for managing two of Australia’s premier sports venues – the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. Both venues are located at Moore Park, only 4km from the central business district and adjacent to the popular bars, restaurants, cinemas and shops of the Entertainment Quarter. Completed in 1988, Allianz Stadium boasts a notable track record of premium events, encompassing Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, major concerts by Barbra Streisand, U2, Red Hot Chilli Pepers, Robbie Williams, Edinburgh Military Tattoo and even the famous operas such as ‘Aida’ and ‘Turnandot’. Allianz Stadium provides the perfect balance between the big crowd atmosphere and intimacy with the on-field action. These aspects, combined with the location of the venue, make visiting Allianz Stadium a special experience for all patrons.

This is Sydney's largest stadium. Built for the Olympics, the transport links (whether you drive or get the train) surprisingly don't cope well - allow plenty of time particularly to exit the stadium and catch the train or retrieve your car. As for the stadium itself, the seats are fine, the legroom is ok, bar & drinks selection is a bit limited and can be disorganised resulting in queues.

This stadium hosts some of the major concerts and events in Sydney. It's within walking distance of Surry Hills and the Entertainment precinct in Moore Park if you feel like getting a meal or a drink beforehand. We'd recommend looking up the location of the door you need to enter through on the map as we had to walk all the way around the stadium before we got to the right door, which was quite frustrating when we could hear one of the acts already performing.
On the night we went it was cold and rainy. We were unfortunately just a few seats in front of the undercover area so we got rained on most of the night. They don't allow umbrellas inside, so bring a poncho if it's rainy. I didn't realise how cold it could get in there and I regretted not wearing something warmer as I felt quite uncomfortable for most of the night. We had to check our umbrella at the door, but it was free to leave checked baggage.
I'd recommend getting public transport there or else parking near Surry Hills as it takes ages to get out of the car park after an event with everyone trying to leave all at once.

We had to go and visit this iconic stadium before they knock it down and we weren’t disappointed. A must if you’re a sports fan along with the SCG

I traveled to Sydney staying in Surry Hills so we could walk to the stadium. It rained but with the ponchos of we went. I felt for Buble’ as the stage was so wet he was concerned with slipping, the sound system was poor making it difficult for him and the audience given a significant echo. A poor night out. Thank god the stadium is being demolished.

Good stadium for watching football, well set up a with great large screens to catch the replay. The facilities were poor however, food options from the 80's, with ridiculous pricing , poor service from untrained staff, and toilet facilities best left unmentioned. No need to pull the place down, but it can do with some renovations, and some love to get it up to a modern standard.

A nice enough stadium to watch the footy and that’s about it. But then, would you need anything else ? Well yes, For the price you pay, you would like at least a descent cup of hot chips, Or a nice hamburger, But no, So dissatisfied and disturbed by the food and pricing. Eat something big before you go. Just a real shame.

Getting to and from the stadium was easy whether by car, public transport or on foot. The security and Police did a great job with traffic and patron control. All the seats have good views of the pitch but ithe stadium is small and the queues for the retail outlets & ablution blocks before, during and after the game was ridiculous. I have visited many stadium in Australian and overseas and the Allianz stadium is showing its age - plans to refurbish are in the pipeline or its future as a first class stadium will be in doubt.

Had a great day at the rugby watching the Waratahs vs the Rebels. The stadium is magic with great views and facilities with a family friendly atmosphere. We had an amazing time and will def do it again
