Before doing this we had recently taken a wine tour in NZ and this beat it hands down. We did it from Cessnock and about 10 minutes after pick were at our first winery. Derek our driver had our day well planned. 4 wineries, lunch, chocolate tasting, cheese tasting and a visit to the smelly cheese shop. Lots of time... More

First, we had a wonderful day. It was skilfully programmed to pack a lot in but we never felt harassed. Bill, Our driver/guide, was brisk and efficient, giving interesting information but not too much. He had a lot of knowledge. He was also a good driver and I generally felt safe in his hands. We sampled about thirty wines in... More

Okay, my wife and I live in Virginia wine country and make it a point to visit other vineyards as time permits. As tourists in Australia we had heard about Hunter Valley and decided to spend the day.....and spend the WHOLE day we did. The majority of it is in a van getting there and back. Once there you enjoy... More

We took the full day tour from Sydney and visited 4 different wineries. All the wineries were great and our driver Paul was fantastic, He took us to small undiscovered wineries that gave us a real feel for the Hunter Valley. He gave us the history of the Valley along the way and we saw wild Kangaroo's. In addition, we... More

The good - 4 wineries plus lunch which is a lot to fit into a day. I have been on Burgundy, Bordeaux, Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley wine tours and always with the top rated TripAdvisor local wine guides. That's the reason I chose this tour too. My experience on this tour is very different compared the French and US... More

Superbly organised trip to four wineries plus cheese shop, chocolate/fudge shop and a good quality lunch. A full-on, high value excursion well worth the money. Driver Chris was fun, informal, helpful and thoughtful. The four wineries were very different in style but all gave great presentations and information. Macquariedale Organic is definitely worth visiting and the owner, Ross, was great.... More

We took a full day tour from Sydney, visiting four wineries for tasting as well as a cheese shop and a chocolate shop for tasting. Superb day. Chris was an excellent guide and organized the flow of the day superbly. Group size was 14, so very manageable. Lunch was included, with a glass of wine! We felt we had a... More

Really well run tour - we had to change pick up location and that was easily arranged over email with the company. We were lucky enough to be in Calum's van- air con on full blast + he was a good host. 4 wineries. Only downside would be the unnecessary, rushed stops at cheese shop and then Chocolate shop -... A great way to spend a day in Sydney when the temperatures hit 40 degrees! Took an air-conditioner minibus to 4 vineyards and had a really delicious lunch enroute. Great value for money and Neil was a really thoughtful host. He took care to place friends and couples near to each other on the bus and even dropped us home... More

My husband and I recently visited Australia from Canada and went on this wine tour. It was easily one of our favourite days of the entire trip! The tour was very well organized. We not only got to drink a lot of delicious wine, but we got to see the gorgeous countryside, meet local people, and eat great local food.... More

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighborhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
