A bit of history, a bit of culture, local events in review, good photo ops and a great introduction to local brews and pubs. This was a great first evening for first time visitors to Sydney. It set the stage for a fabulous vacation that included several return visits to landmark establishments in The Rocks. Highly recommended.

Gregg is among the best tour guide we have ever had around the world's major cities in the US, Europe and Australia. He took us to see the old and the new Sydney. Its people, history, evolution and some Australian complex over British :) He even introduced us where to eat, shop, see and play. Informative, intelligent and interesting with... More

We don't do large group tours so when we found this small group tour on viator we decided to book. We think its a great idea to do an orientation type tour in a new place to get a better idea of the area and a small group or private tour is much better than a guidebook to give you... More

We were the only ones on our walking tour and it was a great way to spend a few hours. Despite having lived in Sydney we had never done any of the 'tourist' type activities. We all learnt bucket loads about our history and Gregg was a font of knowledge - he will even follow up with an email if... More

Gregg was awesome - entertaining and informative! Even though my husband and I were the only ones booked for the tour and a little rain was predicted, Gregg still pressed on. We think our tour was even better because it felt like a private excursion with a friend who was showing us his home town! Highly recommend doing the walking... More

We had relative from the US visiting and thought this would be a good way to see some Aussie pubs. The tour far outweighed our expectations. Greg knew so much old and new facts about The Rocks area that the walk became more than just about the Pubs. Would throughly recommend this walk to both visitors and locals. Thanks Peek... More

My sister-in-law and I did the Rocks Bar tour with the owner Gregg earlier this week. We were over from Perth and thought it would be a good night out. Turned out to be a GREAT night out. Gregg was so full of knowledge and very passionate about the Rocks area that we came away with a true appreciation of... More

We booked fairly last minute which was no problem at all! We were greeted by a smiley friendly tour guide who did not fail to impress. His knowledge about the history of Sydney and the Rocks is outstanding and he could answer any questions we had, it's clear to see that beer and Australian history are his passion and not... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
