The area
Address
Neighborhood: The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.

Easy parking for taxis for dropping off passengers at the cruise ship. It is located at Circular Quay. The outside area of the terminal was a bit congested with people waiting to go on the cruise while there were passengers disembarking. Although friendly, the outside attendants were a little disorganised and vague with their announcements and information. Once we were inside, things went like clockwork.

The Overseas Passenger Terminal is a very large area serving as the point of arrival and departure for tourists on cruise ships and ocean liners. We were there recently visiting and it is an impressive structure. It is probably not so much a tourist attraction as a tourist point of reference! There are some tourist shops inside including eateries. Worth a stroll.

Always a fascinating area sandwiched as it is between The Rocks and Circular Quay. Lots of happy people, many with suitacases embarking or disembarking from the giant cruise ships that dock here. We passed by four days in a row and saw four different liners! Good business for Sydney no doubt. Excellent views of the Bridge and the Opera House and all the ferries coming and going to and fro. Surely one of the best terminals for cruise liners in the world?

It is a bit or a shock to see so many people waiting in line to go through immigration.
This was the best organised chaos that I have lined up for. We did not have to wait long to reach an emigration officer and then through security and onto the ship.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

First time cruisers so was very skeptical but was found wrong ! very efficient boarding was a breeze no more than 20-30 minutes to clear and on to ship, customer service was of a high standard at all times and was a pleasure to use.

We were lucky enough to stroll pass the Overseas Passenger Terminal a number of times in the last couple of days and to see the giant liner tied up at the dock. Always interesting. You should also go through the terminal to the far end as there is a suberb lookout point with great photos to be had.

Visited the cruise terminal on Sunday 10th November which is located at Circular Quay close to the Harbour Bridge. Has all the facalities needed to handle the large volumes of people aboard the cruise ships.

We've passed through this terminal several times and never had any problems. They are able to process thousands of people quickly and comfortably. Fairly easy for cabs and buses coming and going. And if you are on food, the cool harbor area is right here.

We arrived at the terminal on the Queen Elizabeth, went straight through to the taxi rank no hassle. Eight days later we arrived at the terminal in a taxi to depart on the Queen Victoria. Our luggage was whisked away and we were directed by staff to get our passports checked, then we checked in for the cruise and before you know it we were on the ship.
Can’t fault the staff they were excellent.

This passenger terminal and its location, is one one the best in the world. It is super convenient to shopping, dining, the Circular Quay ferry terminal & train terminal (next door) and the Opera House. Who could ask for more! lt's also super convenient for easy cruise passengers coming or leaving Sydney. The views are spectacular! Inside the air conditioned terminal, the Australian customs & immigration officers do a good job of clearing passengers on and off the ship in a USA type of terminal setup. The Overseas Passenger Terminal is sandwiched between the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the beautiful Opera House which is within very close walking distance. It is also right next to "The Rocks" for shopping & restaurants.
BOTTOM LINE: The Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal is perfectly located and the picture perfect location for a passenger ship terminal in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Very modern and easy to navigate. LOVE IT! MY RATING: 10/10.
