Had a great tour of Sydney pubs in the historic district led by Lucy. Very knowledgeable tour guide and also a fun route to visit - all the cool bars, history of rebellions, and insights into the life of original settlers. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting!

Hi Gleb D, Thanks so much for going along on our When Rum Ran the Rocks tour and for taking the time to review Sydney Urban Adventures here on TripAdvisor. An interesting two hours. We got a great insight into the underbelly of the Cross...the building where a ringleader of crime was shot three times before he finally succumbed to death, the pub where a vocal protester of a new development mysteriously disappeared, never to be seen again...just a few of the interesting tales.

Great tour of Kings Cross. Our guide Kimble was a fabulous storyteller, we got so much more than facts, we felt like we were transported back to the razor gangs and sly grog! Highly recommeded trip around the cross and back through history.

Beware of any tours organised by two feet and a heartbeat or urban adventures Sydney. I booked the Sydney Crimes and Passions Walking Tour of Kings Cross which wasn't far from my hotel and I thought it would be the perfect end to a trip to Sydney. Instead I couldn't be further disappointed. I went out to the meeting point... More

Hi Paul W, Thanks for taking the time to review us here on Tripadvisor. It is unfortunate that you were unable to come along on a tour with Sydney Urban Adventures. To our dismay the booking agent that took your reservation failed to inform us in time that you would be coming on a tour. We certainly would never leave... More

It was so great, very informative, and a perfect 2 hour walking tour, which showed us all the top main sites & history of Sydney. It was more like walking with a new friend, rather than a stranger/tour guide. Many thanks for your hospitality!

Alison was a great tour guide, and we had a very informative time. We learnt many things, and it was a great experience. At no time, did we feel unsafe, and even stayed for a meal in the Cross, which we may not have done otherwise. Thanks, and we will recommend to our friends!!!!

Kim was a great tour host, very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the district. The whole tour had a very friendly feel. I'd be really interested in one of the Surry Hills area, it must have it's own stories to tell.

Just Outstanding. This was one of the best and most interesting walking tours I've even taken, and I've done quite a few. Kim is deeply knowledgeable about the area and weaves a compelling story across ages and characters that really makes you feel like you can reach out and touch history. If you do only one thing in Sydney, go... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
