Tours and Tickets by Journey Walks
Overview
Founded as a convict colony, Sydney’s history is simply fascinating. Discover it with a local historian on this small-group walking tour of The Rocks, which wraps up inside a converted 19th Century storehouse with a cobblestone beer-garden. See a scale model of the area in Customs House; visit historic slums, speakeasies, and ruins in The Rocks’ cobbled lanes; and hear tales of derring-do as you visit the landmarks in Macquarie Place.

A must see for anyone interested in history! Excellent commentary with walking at a gentle pace. Even if you think you know the history of the Rocks there is more to learn on this walk, including diss houses, larrikins, Suez Canal and opium dens.

We did the tour in April 2022 and enjoyed all 2.5 hours of it. Max was very engaging and enthusiastic and held our interest the whole time with the stories and the places he took us. We had no idea what to expect but came out learning a lot and having a great time. Our two boys (16 and 12) were equally engaged, so we would highly recommend it for kids as well as adults.…
