Following our ghost tour we brought the whole family back to take in the dock, museum and beach at q station.
We enjoyed a picnic but many food options available on site.
Swimming at the beach allowed us to avoid the crowds down in manly and the older kids were able to enjoy a kyack tour.
Our youngest was thrilled to get an icecream from the boat ice cream vendor, such an added thrill for a country kid.

We stayed at Quarantine Station in winter a few years ago and it was lovely. From the history to the beautiful pristine beach, it was a really fun weekend with our kids. The best thing was the ghost tour...what a hoot! My daughter and I were quite pleasantly scared out of our wits! Not sure if this is still current so check before booking.

Most people would be able to see Quarantine Beach from a boat or a ferry, but would never actually land on it. The area is quite restricted, due to the Quarantine Station and it being part of the National Parks. It is difficult to access and so most people cannot be bothered with it. On the other hand it is a very little known beach and as such it is probably the perfect beach to go to if you can and if you prefer some privacy. The waters are quite clear and clean. Because it is secluded you should go there prepared for the sun, and the heat and bring your own food and drink. A visit to the Quarantine Station would also be great. It is a historical area. The Station was the place for all arrivals to be quarantined for most of our history, until the 1980s! Now it's a sort of museum and worth a visit.

I love doing the walk down to Quarantine Beach through the old Quarantine Station up at Nth Head. Chill out on the beach and grab a coffee. During super low tide you can walk around from Collins beach along the rocks via Store Beach. Few Pine trees to get some shade under if need be.

Quarantine Beach is a 200 m long strip of silver sand on Sydney Harbour, near Manly. It is part of the Sydney Harbour National Park.
It is named after the Quarantine Station, just behind it on North Head, which was the first port of call for many quarantined ships and passengers from 1828 until 1984.
Quarantine Beach is no accessible by land as the Quarantine Station has it fenced off. Most people who go there do so by boat or surf ski.
If you manage to find your way to it, Quarantine Beach is a delightful, and often secluded place, to relax, have a swim, and enjoy a picnic.

Visited on Monday 11th November. You get a great view of the beach as you head to Manly on the ferry. On the day we saw it, it looked deserted.

This delightful and quiet beach is part of the National Park. Also it is tucked into the area controlled by Q Station resort and hotel.
Little known - you can access this spot easily by catching the circular Quay ferry to Q station and stroll along to this spot which you'll see when you arrive.
Stay for the sun and a quiet swim, bring your own picnic or wander around the free museum of the Quarantine station right on the pier.
But don't tell everybody this gem is so beautiful

Located on the water front of the Quarantine Station at North Head, this is a small sandy beach that is open to the public. There is a great deal of history in this local area and well worth a visit.

Quarantine Beach is a higgem gem. The water is pristine and you can easily see the bottom. There is not to many shade areas so come prepared.

we visited here on the eco hopper ferry. what an absolutely stunning place to visit. the quarantine station tour was excellent as well
