The Ferry is a great way to see Sydney Harbour. There are longer trips such as the Zoo, Manly or head to Watson's Bay for lunch. Even a trip around to Darling Harbour gives a good view of the Opera House and the Bridge from Circular Quay over to Luna Park, Balmain and surrounds.

It's really nice to take a trip by ferry from the harbour beside the Opera House especially in a sunny afternoon.

Great way to travel but not cheap. Best way to go is use up 8 opal journeys on the bus's & trains then after this all your journeys are free within one week. Lovely views of harbour

OPAL CARD Needed before getting on the train once you leave airport to head to your destination. Poms are great lovers of Manly and Balmain. It's the most common accent I hear and is the best place to experience old Victorian architecture and pubs but don't stay in Balmain crap. Try for cheap but clean Harris ST pub $92 a... More

Don't pay for one of the overpriced harbor tours. Just experience it like locals do. Cheap enough to do a few different trips in both the day and evening.

Any ferry trip on Sydney Harbour is magic. The old ferries have a great ambience and it's the only way to see the many inlets around our harbour. The Kirribilli Club at McMahon 's Point is worth a visit and a short trip from Circular Quay. The restaurants around Circular Quay command great views and a stroll from the ferry... More

We used the Sydney ferries several times during our recent four day stay in the city. They were efficient and good value. The Opal card system is easy to use, taking out the need to queue for tickets. We went to a number of locations, including Watsons Bay, from where you can walk to The Gap and South Head, and... Great way to see Sydney harbour. I travelled from circular quay to neutral bay. Seniors cost $2.50. With opal card. Sit outside instead of inside in the good weather. This trip is only a small part of Sydney harbour, you could travel on to manly for a longer trip. Good ,if the waves aren't too rough. Good photo opportunities coming... More

Not quite an original title but its so true! Tap on and off and you can use a network of routes to achieve so many vantage points throughout this marvellous city Harbour. If you catch the ferry from Darling Harbour round to Circular Quay, be sure to get that shot of a lifetime of Luna Park, the Bridge and the... More
