My boyfriend and I had a fantastic 6 hour Day & Night Photography Course with Alfonso and enjoyed seeing our own city with new eyes. His teaching style is fun, informative, passionate and inspiring. He was prompt to respond emails and went out of his way to cater our needs (e.g. camera hire.) Thank you for the wonderful experience and... More

Alfonso gave a very informative talk in our club. Very easy to approach, & he was a wealth of knowledge & information in photography. Looking forward to his visit again in August.

Alfonso has guided our photographic club with a couple of our projects. Alfonso contributed hugely to the successful outcomes; he demonstrated great photographic skill and understanding, and encouraged everyone to contribute and participate. We all benefitted greatly from the experience, and I certainly improved my photography skills in the process. I plan to do one of Alfonso’s night-time walks around... More

Alfonso, met us at Madrid airport and a week later dropped us off at Madrid airport and handled all the arrangements in between: lodging, food, cooking lessons, flamenco guitar lesson, great teacher of photography (especially, food photography) and editing. He was always there, eagerly offering and helping us, making sure everything was to our liking. We had a great, great... More

I have done a few Photographic Tours in different places with different groups and without a doubt, Alfonso was the best yet. His obvious love of his craft and his determination to help was great. He went out of his way to meet our group before we finalised our booking to get to know what our expectations were and after... More

Alfonso organised a tour of Tasmania photographing landscapes and at the same time, teaching us better techniques. He ensured that the week that we spent together was fun, informative and interesting and we all learned a lot from him. When we were not actively photographing or traveling he gave freely of his time to encourage us, to teach us the... More

I took a 3 hour private lesson in Sydney with Alfonso and it was incredible. He really customized the lesson to fit my needs. I'm a complete beginner and he was able to teach me the fundamentals and guided me in taking a variety of photos I didn't think a beginner like me was capable of taking. He even offered... More

For my mum for Mother's Day, I purchased us tickets to do this together. We learnt so much in the three hours, well worth the price! Alfonso was responsive to individual learning needs and went through things in different ways to ensure we understood what he was teaching. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Our Photographic Society spent a day with Alfonso at Cockatoo Island and then later to the Rocks area. He worked very well with each member of the group who asked for help and at their skill level. Alfonso is a great guide and teacher and fun to be around. I would highly recommend Alfonso to visitors, beginners and any skill... More

Alfonso is an excellent teacher. He starts the course by asking about our camera knowledge and what we hope to achieve. He explains the different elements and principles of photography using various settings and is very patient and takes time to explain the techniques you can use to get a better shot. If you want to learn more about photography... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
