After a lot of research we chose the Tribal warrior NYE cruise to see in the New Year while we were staying in Sydney and are 100% pleased we did!
It was a totally amazing night and one we will never forget!
From the moment we arrived to meet the boat, everything was extremely well organised and instantly we felt reassured it was going to be the best night ever!
The food was absolutely delicious and the crew worked extremely hard to get it all out so quickly. In fact the crew were so friendly and amazing the whole night - just couldn’t do enough for you! We felt extremely special!
The entire evening was so enjoyable, sailing up the river, being part of the smoking ceremony, the light parade, soaking in the atmosphere from the shores -it was just all fantastic.
There was a lovely atmosphere on the vessel - we were on the Mari Nawi, the smaller of the two vessels with Tribal Warrior, so it was more intimate and we ended up getting to know quite a few of the other guests!
The entertainment was great and my husband and daughter even got up for the karaoke and sang their hearts out!
The fireworks were out of this world and we were in a prime position, making the whole experience one we will never forget!
I really can’t rate this experience enough - if you are thinking about it - do it - you will not regret it!
Special thanks to Mars for all your help when I was booking!

The boat, the Mari Nawi, is just lovely and inside is decorated like a comfortable verandah. There are two indoor seating areas, upstairs and downstairs, and an outdoor area. There are toilets, tea and coffee and water on board. Staff are attentive, friendly, informative and fun.
The cruise is at a gentle pace and the commentary identifies what the modern landmarks were before European colonisation, so that you can see that former life in your mind's eye.
Visiting Clark Island and walking round it is a real privilege. It's a beautiful place, and you learn from your guide. You never feel rushed on this tour.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to reflect on the life of the Gadigal people before the Europeans arrived.

Of all the tours we took in Australia this was the not only the BEST of the BEST. but also the most informative! For a little more than an hour we were immersed in the Aboriginal culture. All questions were answered! Their work with at-risk Aboriginal youths is exceptional. If you are in the Circular Quay area of Sydney find an hour for this tour as it will be well worth your time!

I believe the tour created a beautiful memory for me. However, there are a few areas where improvements could be made.

The general boat had a somewhat unpleasant smell, which affected the experience.
The briefing on Indigenous history over the speaker was not very clear, and it felt like the message was not fully delivered.
It would have been a nice touch to offer afternoon tea with biscuits, warm tea, or coffee. (just thoughts)
That being said, the island itself was beautiful and special. The host explained things clearly and beautifully, which I appreciated. I also feel that it would be even more engaging to involve guests in experiencing Aboriginal culture from various perspectives. Aboriginal culture has a strong and beautiful spiritual element, which I believe could provide a meaningful experience, especially for people seeking relief from the stress of modern life.

I would love to see this cruise expand more internationally. When I visited one of our Neighbourhood Centres, I saw local high school students deeply involved in Aboriginal music and dance practice. We learned their movements and witnessed a smoking ceremony, which was truly amazing. It allowed us to experience a beautiful moment where bad spirits were said to be cleared away. The smell of the smoke and the movements of the Aboriginal dance remain vivid in my mind, making the experience feel very special.
One of our participants expressed interest in bringing her organization’s staff to experience your cruise. This shows that your cruise already has strong elements of appeal.
Best wishes,
I hope this helps.

Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Cultural Cruise was a great way to experience the Sydney harbour from the perspective of the Aboriginal history. Traveling to Goat Island and learing about the Gadigal people and history was well worth it. The cruise is not that long and the interactive piece while on the Island was enjoying and educational.

Excellent authentic trip organised and presented by first nation people. It surprised me before boarding this trip that many more people borded the princess tour than this, their loss I guess. During my trip to Australia there were very few of these activities that actually support the aboriginal community, Australia needs more of this. Won't post no spoilers but I cryed

Our entire group enjoyed the Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Cultural Cruise! We were a group of college students visiting from California and this experience did a great job of teaching some of the Aboriginal history of Sydney. The views of the harbor and Clark island were also incredible. Of all the many harbor cruise offerings in Sydney, this is the best.

The highlight of this tour were the informal conversations with tour guides. These provided a glimpse of their current lives. This provided a contrast to the past experiences of aboriginal peoples. Left with a good overview of the culture, history and spiritual orientations. Enjoyed the dancing, music and foods. Well worth the time.

Went on this cruise for vivid and it was such a great experience. Decent food friendly staff and the cultural experience I will keep as a memory for years to come. Wasn't crowded and plenty of space outside and undercover which was great as it was raining.
