Floriade was very disappointing. My Mum and I had been talking about going to Canberra to see Floriade for years. The trip to Canberra was great - Floriade was not! I expected much more, not just a few garden beds. The flowers were lovely, but not the spectacular I had envisioned. There were lots of commercial stores selling mostly non-gardening... More

We visited Canberra last year and missed Floriade by a week so this year we really wanted to see it. Overall it was very well done, but we consistently heard as we walked around that people were disappointed this year as bad weather had affected the flowers. However as we had no basis we were pretty impressed. There were enough... More

This year I thought it would be wonderful to see Floriade both during the day and evening. Entry is free during the day however there is a cost in the evenings and tickets are available on line. Gardens were beautiful and I enjoyed the market and food stalls. Even enjoyed a glass of wine with lunch. The garden closes late... More

I was not expecting much having already been told it was going downhill each year. It really was a poor display even if you allowed for bad weather earlier. And, to cap it, there was a superb flower display 1/2hr away. The shopping mall was o.k. but not large. Jed422

Umm where have the flowers gone was the question that echoed in my head as I wandered down the hill at Commonwealth park. Also where have the vendors gone? Sadly I was terribly disappointed in Floriade 2016. It seems the focus is now on sculpture art and night fest lights rather than actually the flowers and tulips. Hardly any entertainers... More

We were told by locals not to expect too much due to poor weather damaging plants earlier in the month, however there was minimal visible damage and the displays were lovely. Lots of garden beds; mostly tulips, displays and the usual stalls selling their wares. Plenty of food options, from vans and ice cream trolleys to sit down cafes, and... More

We have been going to Floriade every year for over twenty years. In years gone by we have been overwhelmed by the stunning displays of flowers, special features like landscaping, bird houses, native gardens, entertainment and more. This year, as was the case over the last few years, Floriade has less displays, less flowers, pretty much less everything. The only... More

Went to Wed night Floriade Nightfest with the kids. Was very disappointed! No water features on the ponds, no funky fog machines in the trees accompanied by butterflies and music, didn't see many performers around. And there just didn't seem to be nearly as many flowers. I went to the Nightfest in 2014 and was blown away. This year was... More

There's a reason why Floriade is Australia's biggest celebration of spring. Floriade showcases one million flowers in bloom throughout Canberra's Commonwealth Park and best of all, entry is free. A must visit if you're in the vicinity!

Drive down from Sydney, drive around for an hour in chaotic, badly organised street system, met the odd security guard telling us we couldn't go up most of the roads (particularly the one with the sign saying 'Floriade parking', having a hell of a job finding our way out, drive back to Sydney, Lovely.
