First time we went in Sept as we were in Canberra for the weekend. Used the free shuttle bus so it was easy to arrive. We stayed one hour. Small and was not impressed. I am glad we did not come down especially for the...More

In Comparison to other Flower and Garden Shows we have visited , Floriade is underwhelming, Nightfest may be better but it just lacks in display and the variety of blooms. There were exhibitors and some nice food outlets. They have some entertainment and workshops ans...More

Every year floriade gets smaller and more disappointing. There is little to do and my wife and I struggled to keep ourselves amused for an hour. So few garden beds, barely any connection to gardening and is so small. The collection of three tire garden...More

Was in Canberra last week and for the 1st weekend of Floriade. Most people know about Floriade and the history. Many of the plants were in bloom or starting to. There is also the small markets, an entertainer, Ferris wheel. I was expecting to see...More

Thanks to Canberra weather we spent 3 hours in the garden at Canberra. Besides tulips 🌷 the entire space is blooming with beautiful flowers. The layout and colour combinations are very artistic. Heavenly for garden lovers and artists.

We came to Canberra mainly for Floriade, how disappointing it was. The hype did not live up to the reality. It would have been more pleasurable spending an hour at Bunnings garden centre.

Floriade has been beckoning for years. We had a chance to visit this year and nowhere as good as expected. The gardens were lovely but not fantastic. The themes would be better seen from above and not clearly seen from ground level. I must admit...More

My friend and I drove from Melbourne to attend Floriade (attended Monday Sept 16th). We were disappointed that there was very little that related to horticulture. It took one hour to walk around as there was little to see - it was like a mini...More

Having visited Floriade many times over the past 25 years, I have noticed the wow factor declining - smaller beds - same shapes - same flowers same tulip bulbs and basically it's becoming a boring festival. Nevertheless I continue to patronise the event, hoping that...More

No, they are still small green leaves. Mid September to October is the time to see them in bloom.

The Floriade flower beds are only displayed for one months, namely, from around 15 September to 14 October. If you are late, you have missed the wonderful display. Hope you can make it by then.

Ovolo Nishi Hotel ($$$), QT, Crowne Plaza. Anything close to the city as you can catch the free shuttle bus from Canberra Centre to the event.
