Great exhibition, audio guide well worth the few dollars for informative and enjoyable background information. Hint - at opening, there was a substantial line up of grey haired people lining up for over half an hour before the Gallery opened. Hmm, was in the line up with grey haired people in my group also of the opinion earliest is best... More

This new exhibit is exclusive to the National Gallery and is well worth the $27 adult entry fee - kids are free! Walk through and view statues, masterpiece paintings, carpets, huge tapestries and much more. The exhibition is at the Gallery until April 2017 Don't forget to get an audio tour, $7 and well worth it too, as it gives... More

Definitely worth a visit for those who've never seen these measures , and the opulence of that era, which could have led to The French Revolution because of 'The Great Divide between the Rich & The Poor of those times. A great .and comfortable way to spend a few hours on our extremely hot Canberra Summer Days Give yourself time... More

Our hotel booking included tickets to teh exhibition, so we walked over as it was only 1km away. It was really hot, but inside was lovely. The Versailles exhibition was very interesting, though busy for a monday - miore like a weekend crowd we were told by the staff. However, far less crowded than Versailles itself!! It took us a... I booked a viewing of the Versaille exhibition for myself and my mother (disabled and visiting from the UK). I booked a ticket that included a glass of champagne. We had planned to have the champagne at the end of our tour as we reminisced on what treasures we had seen, but on arrival were told that the café shut... More

I had three small kids and I used the national Gallery to socialise my kids. They caught up with other kids from Mothers group and had plenty of space to run. The exhibits were suited to the tall and the short alike and the outdoors was just as fascinating. However it was hard keeping the more adventurous ones out of... More

I regularly go to the NGA even when there aren't special exhibitions as the art, both inside and outside is inspirational. Its also an easy walk to the Portrait Gallery, the lake, Historic Old Parliament house, Questacom,.... and more
