Would’ve liked to have seen more and better war memorials. The best one by far is at the Parliament House end of the parade. 5 light horse men. What brilliant detail they are they almost look real! It was worth the walk from the war memorial where I had spent most of my day at.

I wanted to do this walk since I arrived - So I parked by the lake - Police Memorial walked around the lake to when I could see the War Memorial in the distance and walked across... WOW this is beautiful, I walked the complete length up the left side reading the memorials that are there... At the top I had a look around the outside of the War memorial and into the Gardens. Then walked back to the lake down the right side again reading all the Memorials that are there... This is just amazing and difficult to put into words... I am a history buff - Loved every second and the Australians must be proud to have such a beautiful memorial. Highly Recommend

This is a good (and long!) walk you can take, when the weather is right - not too cold and not too hot. If you choose to stop next to each monument on both sides, the entire walk can easily take several hours.
