A truly wonderful little spot within the lake area. It has plenty of park benches around the place and even has a electric BBQ available for those wishing to picnic.

We went to the National Carillon on October n we really loved it. There was a soothing breeze coming in n the views were awesome. Apparently, it was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on April 27, 1970 n it was a present from Britain in...More

Our accommodation was not far from the National Carillon and we were so lucky to hear the music produced by the bells on both Sunday and Wednesday. We had read about the Carillon and knew a little about it but hearing the bells was a...More

Made sure we got to Canberra in time to hear the Carillon recital on a Wed lunchtime. It was blowing a gale but the music was great. Make sure you hear from all sides to get a sense of the acoustics

So nice to be able to hear the Carillon when walking around various parts of the lake. Next time I will try a Carillon tour.

Wait around for the bells and it is an excellent place to walk around. Lake Burley Griffin proves a beautiful backdrop to this architectural monument. Gives a chance to walk along some of the foreshore for the lake, and late afternoon sits well on this...More

Our family of five visited Canberra for the first time and we really wanted to hear the bells of the National Carillon. We walked through a gallery, saw the High Court, walked under the flags by the lake, then we waited lakeside until noon because...More

When I saw the National Carillon, I wanted to see it closer. To me it was very attractive! It is located at the Aspen Island and everyone can see it as it is 50 meters high. I stood there and enjoyed the music. On Wednesdays...More
