I've been here over numerous years & went yesterday. The Timothy Taylor was ok (the best Saracens Head St Helens) but went into the main bar. The seats are a bit grubby & I'm convinced I could smell "dog" whilst sitting there. The Bull is...More

Like stepping back in time, The Jolly Woodman is the perfect antidote to all that's bad in high street pubs. No loud music, just good beer, and good company.

Charming, small, cosy but - despite some reviews I have seen - warm and welcoming. It is not a foodies pub, it is a pub pub. The beer is well kept, and there are normally at least four real ales on hand-pumps, Tim Taylor Landlord...More

A really lovely proper pub. Small and friendly. Situated within a beautiful little area of quaint cottages.

Popped in on a Friday evening. Lucky enough to get the end of a table for four of us. Sampled a good few ales, nuts and crisps. Landlord knows his beer and it was all served at a good temperature through nice, clean pipes. Surroundings...More

Perfect old style pub. Good beer (Harvey's esp). TV only goes on from rugby and golf and the rest of the time it is down to you and your conversation skills. Don't expect to get a seat

If you want a good pint of beer especially real ale and proper service this is the pub to come to. A bit of a quirky with not the best loos in the world but a good atmosphere and a cosy fire.

What my review? Never it's a local pub for local people like the league of gentlemen! It's the locals that run it not the staff. If your on about a review then complete another one after a month trip advisor let's you.
