Without a doubt you have to visit it.
It is a delicious place, the vegetation, the birds, the lakes, the monkeys, iguanas...
The children really enjoy the walk between and are distracted by the streams.
The staff is very friendly, guides you, gives you suggestions and always has a good service attitude.

we were on our way back from seeing the country side and we saw their sign. we had time so we went in. it’s off the highway down a rough road but very manageable. the jardin is really a jungle. it is rather well maintained ans well staffed. everyone was friendly. we took the self guided tour and completed in about 60-90 minutes which included a stop for soda. if your willing to adjust your schedule you can get a bi-lingual guided tour. the trail is almost all co crete but wear good shoes and don’t bring a stroller or wheel chair. overall a nice place to visit!

This tucked out of the way little sanctuary of peace and quiet was a wonderful surprise. There were monkeys howling in the trees, beautiful parrots begging for food at the cafeteria, bright red squirrels running amok and a huge army of cutter ants that had carved a busy trail through the woods, among so much more. It is a beautiful way to spend an entire morning, strolling the very well kept trails and taking time to capture the perfect photo. It is a nice change to get out of the busy city and back to nature. As well, we stopped for lunch at a roadside parilla in Turbaco and the food and service were both superb. Even in heavy traffic, it was less than an hour to get to from the old walled city of Cartagena.

I can't justifiably rate this with too much confidence, as we were not able to enter. After a long uber ride there, we got dropped off with a lot of excitement to view the gardens after seeing great reviews. However, we discovered they were cash only. The cost was about $20,000 pesos each, so be sure to bring that much cash with you. We only had enough cash on us for one entry and hoped they would show a little sympathy and let us enter with what cash we had to offer. However, they denied us entry, our uber had taken off, and we were left stranded. After a mile walk down the highway, we found some buses with very friendly people able to help us find our way home for cheap and had a great time exploring on our way home. The mistakes we made were our own fault and nobody is to blame but us. However, I wish they would have let us in with what we had to offer considering we were the only people there at the time. Moral of the story: go prepared, TAKE CASH, and be prepared for buses home if you don't plan a return taxi or Uber ride.

Jardin Botanico is not a huge botanical garden like others I've visited, however, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our hotel located a driver who took us on the 45 minute drive to the gardens for 280,000 Colombian pesos. He was terrific and waited on us for two hours while we toured the gardens, then drove us back to the city. The entry fee was less than $10 US and well worth the cost. Perhaps our enjoyment was partially due to all the huge shade trees and a chance to get away from the heat but there was more of interest than that. Birds and howler monkeys played in the trees and cutter ants paraded across the paths. Butterflies flashed their wings in the dappled light as they flitted about near the little water features positioned around the gardens. It is true that there are not very many blooms but we did not really miss them due to all the gorgeous lush foliage. During our visit, there was absolute peace and quiet, other than the sounds of the monkeys. We were also prepared to be annoyed by swarming insects but were happily mistaken. Maps of the garden were available in Spanish and English and we found it very easy to follow the paths. There is a small cafe and bathrooms. If you enjoy nature, this is a great little getaway near Cartagena.

A small but gorgeous place very near the city of Cartagena in order to be in touch with nature. An amazing green spot with a lot of different habitats, great trees, and the possibility of watching birds and other small animals. A perfect place for an afternoon walking. Very romantic.

These gardens are well worth a day trip. Its very easy to get around, well signed and comfortable pathways with plenty of shade from the sun provided by nature. The monkeys sounded quite fearsome but were a big attraction ..a lively bunch!

Loved the wildlife and plants! Great way to spend a morning and support Colombian people and biodiversity efforts in the area. We hired a driver to take us there from a nearby hotel and he waited for us to explore. Very hot, take plenty of water!

For a quiet and fascinating half-day, visit these botanical gardens. From Centro, you can take Transcaribe T106 to the end of the line and then a local bus towards Turbaco. Ask the bus driver where to let you off. Takes about an hour. Or take a taxi. Wonderful oasis of tranquility. The peace will delight you after the noise of Cartagena. The botanical collection is comprehensive with an easy trail (not wheelchair accessible) and well-labelled plants. We heard howler monkeys and watched the red monkeys play in the trees. Nice butterflies too.
