We chose this site for our main summer holiday,we have two active 8 year old twin daughters and this site was an absolute dream for them.
The site is located an easy 2 1/2 hours from Calias, and is set around a large lake and a smaller lake,The large lake is ideal for swimming, boating,or just relaxing in the water, there is a brilliant water slide, beach area, with an inflatable water course(10 euros each). Also paddle boards and pedalos are available.
The smaller lake is really an aqua park, with lots of fun water activities and several play areas, the like of which was unbelievable, and in the heat of the summer was brilliant to have some great family fun.
Also activitiy wise there is claiming walls,a low rope course,a high rope course,a BMX bike trail, trampolines, kids clubs with lots of fun activities.
The staff was all very friendly and spoke great English, there are also bars and restaurants available which we didn't use.
The toilet areas was extremely clean and the Covid protocol really helped to make it a lovely secure place to be.
The pitches themselves are 100sqm set in the forest, with no rules on how you would like to set up your outfit.
Around the campsite there is fantastic cycle network, which is all level and flat, and motor free.
There is several supermarkets within a 10 minute drive of the site, and some lovely towns/villages.
We arrived two hours before Belgium was announced as a place we would have to quarantine on our return, but after seeing the site it's a small price to pay to have great family memories made at this wonderful site, we will definitely return, great site fantastic value for money.

The playground for children is without a doubt the most extensive play area that we have seen and was fabulous. However the pitches are left uncared for, with no maintenance and this sadly shows. We paid to camp for 7 nights but left after 5 as we couldn't stand the messy loose sandy soil and hundreds of fallen pine cones any longer which truly got everywhere, you were basically pitched in a forest, with no privacy from pitches around you and nobody visited the pitches to ensure they were suitable in between guests (we witnessed this as we were forced to move pitch partly through our stay). You will pay for everything on top of your pitch price, showers at 20 cents per minute, binbags (you can only use their orange sacks) at over 1e, washing machines are 3.75e and tumble driers 1.25e. Staff are surly and verging on the point of rude, there is a real feel that the English just aren't welcome here. The motorway noise at night is loud but you get used to it after a while. This site could be something special if they put more effort into maintaining their pitches and they could learn from the french site that we stayed in before!

The main issue for campers is that the pitches are sandy and covered in pine cones so it does take some preparation to clear them away before you pitch your tent. Also as its in a forest you do get tree sap and dirt on your tent more than other sites.

However the pitches are large and seperated into rows with trees and bushes so although its a very big site you dont feel its as big as it is.

The toilets were always well kept and showers were hot even if you did have to pay to use them.

The sites a bit far from Bruges and some of the other tourist sites in Belgium but the facilities on site were really excellent. The kids loved the water slides and play areas. We took kayaks and had great fun paddling around the large boating lake.

The price was very reasonable for all the things on offer and we are already looking at booking for next year.

We felt like we had the site to ourselves as we went at a time when other european schools were back in term time so although the first weekend was busy it was very quiet during the week and the staff were happy to open the water slide on request.

There is also the option of renting old train carriages converted into accomodation and lake side tree houses which look interesting.

Some nice restaurants not too far away. Also bit of a pain that you had to order bread the day before if you wanted any rather than having any surplus stock in the lightly stocked shop.

I have been to this park twice in 4 years. The facilities are spotless and there is always plenty to do for the kids and adults on site. Its only a short drive from antwerpen for more shops etc and similar driving distance from rotterdam and zeebrugge ports for ferries. Would recomend Ghent for a visit. I would definetly go back.

This park was great, everything you could want for a family holiday! The beach and playgrounds were really good. Not much staff interaction but in our view that’s a good thing! No forced fun! Cafe bar was good too.

We have now visited this site 3 times over the last 7 years, the kids class it as one of their all time favourite campsites in Europe (and they have been to plenty)
It's a huge site, easy to get to about 30 minutes drive from Antwerp, we have done various crossings and the closest one from the U.K is probably the Harwich to Hook of Holland one which is roughly 2 hours to the campsite from the port, (I can also recommend the Stena over night crossing).
The site itself is set in a pine forest, the pitches are nice and spacious and you don't park your car next to your unit which means even more space, there is plenty of space to park your car at the end of each row.
The staff at reception are very helpful and the facilities kept immaculately clean.
The swimming lake is lovely, nice clear waters and the lovely play areas are brilliant. Most toilet blocks have one outside, however near the swimming lake is a mass of play equipment, some are on the water and some around the edge, there is also a water slide into the lake. My children aged 10,9 and 6 loved the play areas, there is so much to keep them occupied. There is also a trampoline at a different part that you pay for and a climbing wall.
The site itself is great, you have to have a card for the showers and it costs 20 cents for 1 minute of hot water, so a 5 minute shower costs €1 (slightly steep). You also have to buy bin bags at €1.50 per bag, as you can't use your own though recycling is free. You can hear the dual carriageway a little so something to bear in mind if you are in a tent.
You can hire pedalos at the lake , we also took our kayak.
While here this time we visited Antwerp, a beautiful city, we cycled to Vossellaar on the way to Turnhout (marked cycle route) which took about 15 minutes then got the bus to Antwerp which took about 45 minutes, cost me €8 each way for me and the three kids, however I highly recommend visiting this fantastic city.
We stayed for 4 nights and I still don't think that we did everything we could.
We will most definitely return at some point , even though I don't like going to the same place to often there is something about de lisle Bergen that draws you back.

Stayed for 3 nights in July. Staff in reception were pleasant and helpful. The pitches are between trees so some care is needed pitching a caravan, our motor mover was helpful. We enjoyed our stay and our 9 year old was in the lake and on the play equipment most of the time. We also had a stay booked for August and requested another pitch away from the shower block for our return visit because people took a short cut through our pitch to it, this was granted. The shop was useful for morning bread and essentials. Some activities are chargeable but we did not use them. One of our 2 days the park was very busy with children's trips, the other day it was deserted. A bike is useful for going to the play park and shop as these are quite a long way from some pitches. Dogs are allowed on the campsite but not near the lake or play area. There is a small fenced dog walk were they can be let off the lead, this is also a long way from the main pitching areas. Rubbish must be put in the sites orange bags, we were given 1 but after that they had to be purchased at 1 each.

This seems to be a Marmite site (you love it or hate it) but we definitely loved it. Three British families. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. Huge site but divided up into smaller sections. Yes it's in a pine forest, it smells wonderful. Big pitches, yes there are pine cones and its sandy. Really not a problem! At times we had the site to ourselves so there was not always a lifeguard on duty but when we asked if the children could swim in the lake one was provided within 15 minutes. Having camped loads in France and never gone back to a site, this is one we will definitely revisit. Only 2.5 hours from the ferry is a huge bonus. Toilet block one is amazing. Who cares if a shower costs about €1 when the facilities are this nice and clean. And you get your €25 back when you return the card, so you have extra wine money to spend in Pidou on the way home ;-)

Firstly the lady on reception was very abrupt, €25 for card for showers which then had to be topped up to use the shower , toilet blocks very open with regard men and women, male attendants laughing when in ladies area, shop limited and very expensive, gotta say not one I will return too
