About
The Megaliths House welcomes visitors who want to know more about them before they explore the Wéris area and its famous site of dolmens and megaliths. The megalithic site of Wéris is made up of 2 dolmens and about 30 menhirs, dated from the 3rd millennium BC. At the Megaliths House can you find a museum dedicated to Megalithism and the daily life of the Neolithic farmers-livestock owners. A shop offers books, brochures, maps for walking, postcards and souvenirs. In the cafeteria, with a terrace and snacks, you can try the Dolmenius local beer.

Small museum, great start to discover menhirs and dolmens
Jul 2019 • Family
It's a small museum, cheap to visit, but more importantly it's a great place to start a nature walk and discover the many menhirs and dolmens in the area. Le Lit du Diable (the devil's bed) and the Pierre Haina are closeby, to name but a few. The museum also has it's own beer: Dolmenius. The museum is located in the middle of Wéris, a beautiful little village.

Amazing array of megalithic stones
Jul 2018 • Friends
The standing stones go on for kilometres with lots of theories as to their existence. There's a visitor centre with an interesting film which shows that there are even stones beneath the sea in the bay of Mouriban ( rising sea levels). The theories as to how the stoned were moved and erected seem plausible. You can have a guided tour but I do think these should be conducted by a native speaker i.e. if an English tour, utilise an English person such as an assistante or student to avoid confusion with pronunciation- marmotte/mammoth, tom/tomb & to speed up the process on a hot day. There's a little train worth exploring too.

Nice little museum and quiet small town.
May 2016 • Couples
Museum is small and they do have a small area to sit and have a little bite to eat. Very quiet town, but not a lot to see. The main concentration of Megalithes are just outside of town, with a scattering of others in the neighboring country side. The Museum does have a map of their locations. I would not take a special trip here, but a nice stop if in the area.

well, what can I say...

People are friendly in this 'maison': a small museum/shop/coffeeplace. Please do not have high expectations of this museum. I love the megaliths, and that's why I came here. I took some coffee, saw the museum, looked for books in my language (Dutch) could not find them, saw a bunch of non related new age stuff, could not understand why, forgave them, went on my way. Have a coffee here, talk to the nice volunteers, then go to the megaliths.
