Great wine interesting tour
May 2016 • Friends
We stopped for an hour at the cellars in the centre of town. With Tokaji being my favourite dessert wine I was keen to tour the cellars and taste the wine. The guide was charming, the tasting excellent and good value enabling me to taste wines othe than the legendary dessert wine, the farming being a favourite. I left with a few bottles across the range, all reasonably priced. A greT eat to spend an hour, taste the wine and stick up with a bargain

Wine tasting

I visited the cellar with 3 friends on the Hungarian National Day in August.
The cellar is very old, made about in the 16-17th Century; you could imagine what the cellars were before.
We made tour around the region; so contacted and visited them.
You can taste nice local wines here from the dry though sweet and to the desert wines. Our favourite and best was the "essence" which is a very special wine - and is in Hungarian Hymne what they told us! :) If I remember well they used as a "drug/painkiller" against the cancer in the last centuries.
The wine-maker, owner is the Illes-family and working with some employeers; the TEAM is very friendly and happy if foreigner come in.
We were very satisfied and bought 10 bottle of wines at least.
Hope we will meet with their wines in the future! :)

If you like sweet wine than it's ok, otherwise don't. Please don't. You can find beautiful wines in Erdőbénye, don't waste your time in this place.

You can taste very delicious local wines here. This is a very old cellar from the 17th Century, so you could have an impression about the past as well. I warmly recommend this very friendly wine maker and his wines!

Charming little wine cellar
Apr 2014 • Couples
We stumbled across this wine cellar in Erdobenye by accident, but I'm very glad we did. We sat with the owner and one of his assistants to do a tasting. They produce their own wines, and you rarely get the chance to speak with the man who makes the wines about the process, characteristics, and intricacies of their wines. Even with a small language barrier we still had a wonderful experience and walked out with six bottles of wine.
