Great to see Just Beer open and doing good business. This hidden gem has got to be the friendliest bar in Newark. Its only small but nice to see the staff actively monitoring a good covid regime to keep us safe. A slightly smaller beer offering but still the best craft ale in Newark with many ever changing styles and flavors. The recently opened extra room is a great addition and has come into its own at this difficult time, there is still plenty of space for customers with staff guiding customers to tables and not allowing vertical drinking and sadly having to turn customers away when there full. I hope things get back to normal soon and this great little bar can return to full strength. .

Award winning Micropub where beer and conversation are both King. Run by 4 Tapsters selling handpumped real ales often from the very newest of micro-brewers at keen prices using lined glasses to ensure even better value. No lagers or spirits but soft drinks and some wines are on the menu. Snacks include local cheeses at all times and pork pies at weekends only. The only fault I can find is I always fancy a pork pie on days when they are not on. Against that the beer quality is second to none for Newark, the ambience and conversation is good for locals and strangers alike. A must visit when in Newark.

This was a good little find, as we love Real Ale, and Just Beer did not disappoint, was many Specialist Brews on offer, you can not go wrong with a visit or two. Small, but with a Friendly Atmosphere.

It is small - so it lives up to its name. There was no wine which is pretty disappointing tin this day and age. I tried a cider, but it was awful....I'm not a cider drinker.
This bar wasn't up my alley at all, I didn't like much about it, but others I was with thought it was great.

Sorry that Just Beer wasn't to your liking, but I can assure you that wine was available - Red, White, Rose AND Prosecco. Dis you ask at the bar?

After a short and unpleasant visit this week, I was left contemplating why this place always wins pub of the year in Newark? I will add they do have a good choice of beers but no regular beer for the person who likes to know what they are getting. The place is very unwelcoming to women which is why I wouldn’t take my wife in again. The beer I was given did taste lightly off but I was told it’s fine, only to see the barrel go 1 pint later and the pump clip turned round. I will be interested to see how long they will be pub of the year in Newark for

We came here for some pre - wedding drinks. The atmosphere and friendliness from the clientele in just beer was a breath of fresh air.
Two strangers sat together at a table "do you mind if I give your dog a biscuit"
"No of course not"
This was just a small sample of the conversations taking place.

The beers on offer were obviously looked after by a master cellar man as the temperature for each beer was perfect. The pork pies and cheese boards are a welcome addition particularly the cheese with horseradish.

A fantastic place with real "real ale values" a true glimmer of a real English pub in a world of trendy wine bars full of angry drunks.

I am surprised there is only one other review for this cracking little place, Remiss of me not to review it sooner. Good cheese and pork pies, but the beer selection is what makes this establishment. Plus the fact you will be engaged in conversation. Be warned! It IS a small venue. Great atmosphere, and beer. I nip in when I am not driving as I have to have at least a couple! Highly recommended for beer lovers.

Read good reviews about this place so we decided to sample and support this venue. Very glad we did, so friendly and welcoming, great selection of ale, cider and craft beer, and a book shelf full of books as well as games! Highly recommend this place!!

If you like real ales then this it's the place for you. I love the craze for micro pubs and here you get a warm welcome, a cold beer and some very tasty local produce from cheeses to pork pies. It's not to be missed and well worth the search. Tucked away just off the river trent and not on the main high street. It's very cosy with with real local characters in there all very happy to impart their knowledge of the area and give some too tips of other great places to eat drink and be merry. I would definitely return if in the area

My wife and I visited Just Beer a week ago. It's a real ale micro pub with real ale enthusiasts for customers. A very friendly place where you're made to feel welcome straight away.

A good selection of beers and ciders on offer. Nice little place and a bit of a different place on a night out.
