Food was actually very nice. Arrived just after 2pm as a group of 4 adults and 3 10-13 year-old. The cafe was very quiet, one other table occupied when we arrived. The server was too busy making a sandwich to take our order immediately which was not a problem. What did not help the situation was the constant moaning at actually having to take and prepare our order (we could hear this from our table) Bearing in mind the legal requirement to provide allergy information this seemed to be too much effort. The server told us although the ingredients did not list the allergens she could not guarantee the food to not contain them. As I said the food was actually nice and the server who bought our food polite and friendly. Perhaps some training needed for her colleague!

Came to the panto last year with a friend and had fantastic service booking tickets with (I think) Chloe. We came in the daytime. This year my friend booked and received a lot unfriendlier service than I did. She was thoroughly upset by the patronising and unhelpful member of staff that she spoke to despite explaining she was making a request which had been done before on my booking. She was also rudely informed that the daytime performances of the pantomime were for children only! Where does it say this on the website? And why were we not then told last year? Not everyone is able to go out at night! We shall be going to Lincoln next year, sorry Palace Theatre but not nice to speak to people like that!!

Hi Sharon, I'm extremely sorry for the experience you and your friend have had. We will be speaking with our team to try to understand what happened but want to express our sincere apologies. Daytime performances are absolutely not just for children. We do have schools shows but these are open to the public too and we welcome everyone to all our panto performances. Our Box Office team usually get such effusive praise for their friendly attitude so we really hope that you will come back to the sparkling Snow White this year to receive the great service we are renowned for.

I paid for a glass of wine for the interval in advance, when it came to interval , which is short , the drinks that are left on a table with peoples names to collect , mine was not there.
And already other people were complaining to the Duty manager as their drinks were missing too.
Apparently some people are helping themselves to drinks that are not theirs as they are just left on a table with names written down on paper next to drink.
The duty manager got me another drink at the bar, but all the hassle and trying to hunt for a drink i paid for that wasnt there is terrible.
i have complained to Rose Maxwell, and they are aware of what she said was "small issues" !
well i dont call that a small issue.
Management sort this out , leaving drinks on a table clearly is not working !

The theatre is undoubtedly beautiful and a huge asset to Newark but management really need to get their act together. Attended the pantomime last night. Long queues for refreshments with only minimum staff on duty, crowded foyer with no available seats. Upstairs quiet bar closed. No management to be seen. We had booked a box, directed to the wrong box and once settled told we had to move. Second box hadn’t been cleaned and was dirty. We spoke to the only member of staff we could find to be told there were staff shortages. Not the paying public’s problem but it is a problem for the management to deal with. We paid over £100 for a thoroughly disappointing evening and left at the half time interval. To compound matters the production of Snow White was dire. Won’t be returning.

Well, that's the last time I go to the Palace Theatre Newark. The performance of Snow White was dire but that's not the fault of the Palace Management. However, it is their fault that there was a complete lack of staffing, the bar was closed upstairs (didn't want alcohol, just a seat!) ......all manner of excuses rolled out. I've been to this Theatre 3 times and its been the same on each visit - its organised chaos, the staff (volunteers, paid? - I'm not sure) are quite unapproachable and are very stroppy with their attitude. When staging a show the theatre company responsible need a member of their senior management on duty. The Palace Theatre needs a proper manager to do what a manager does - manage!!!

The palace theatre itself is ok but the ushers are ridiculous!
They storm around like they're armed guards! On Friday they were up and down constantly shining their torches in people's faces if they dared take a picture.

They were more disruptive than the audience. Give them a torch and they think they're untouchable!

Seriously, lighten up it's the Palace atheayre not the actual Palace!

Another fabulous night out at the beautiful little Palace Theatre in Newark. We drove from Nottingham to see the fantastic show they had on Back to Bacharach. All the great Bacharach/David music. The Sinatra songs & Dione Warwick & many many more. We love this Theatre they have refurbished the Foyer & bar, but inside it is still original.& gorgeous. The lovely red velvet drapes & plush comfy seats. The fabulous carvings & scrolls on the boxes & around the stage. This Theatre is a little gem. The staff here are so friendly we had a truly amazing night.

Went to the Newark Palace theatre to see a music concert. We were blown away by their friendliness of every ( and i mean every) member of the staff. We were warmly welcomed on the steps upon arrival, briefed on do’s and donts due to the pandemic and then shown to the bar/cafe. A few drinks pre concert, relaxing seating outside available. Such a beautiful venue. A great night all round. Thank you

Great little theatre, stalls, circle and some boxes as well. Staff very pleasant and helpful and the bar provided a good range of drinks and snacks as well.
Seating good but a little more space would have been better however got a good view of the stage so very pleased with the seats we had.
Would we go again of course if it was a performance we wanted to see.
