One of the most detailed and informative museums I have ever visited. There were so many old planes and RAF training equipment. The Vulcan is the star of the show and it's worth hanging around to get inside the plane. I had a fascinating chat with a volunteer who was a former RAF engineer in this incredible Cold War plane.... A great collect of aircraft and artefacts spanning from from the early years of aviation through to the cold war. They also have a good cafe for a slice of cake and a cup of tea.

I had high hopes for this trip on a dreary weather day but wished I hadn't bothered. Unless you are a plane enthuiast I wouldn't entertain it. Very little interaction for young children. Very limited viewing opportunities up close. In fact nothing much to keep young minds entertained. Even the planes which were open to viewing "at additional cost" weren't... More

I took my 9 years old grandson for a day at Newark Air Museum during the Easter School Holidays. The displays of vintage aircraft were much more extensive than I expected, some being shown within two large hangers and other, larger ones on the grass outdoors. We were able to climb up into the cockpit of a Vulcan and shown... More

If you have an interest in aviation this museum is a must! run by volunteer enthusiasts they call themselves 'The friendly aviation museum' they certainly are friendly and enthusiastic. great collection of military aircraft, well kept, lots of information on the exhibits and a few gems. On a smaller scale but in my opinion up there with the likes of... More

Lots to see, aircraft types from far & wide, as well as those totally British designs! Obviously, the "Vulcan" is a top attraction - saw it land there, many years ago, now!

There is plenty of parking You enter the museum through the shop where the knowledgable staff explains the layout. There is a coffee shop with light snacks on sale. The selection of aircraft on display is surprising, from a Vulan bomber, through to cold wat Russion fighters. If you are interested in aircraft this is the place to see.

I have very little interest in planes but my husband and kids love it here, we are always made welcome on arrival, there's lots of interesting displays and information. The cafe is great too, sometimes we go for mostly for the toasted sandwiches fir lunch.

It's been quite a while since I last visited this museum,it seems to mostly be a collection of trainer aircraft, which is a nice change from the norm. There are a lot of classic jets as well. It only needs half a day at most to look round so it's possible to visit somewhere else local as well. The canteen is a little... More

Even if you are not into aircraft, you will probably end up enjoying a visit. There's quite a few aircraft, it's volunteer run on not much money, but is professional and well-informed from the volunteers. I would think kids would go for a short visit as they want all sorts of bells and whistles these days, so more adult oriented... More
