We visited this castle a few times already and it is definately worth a visit. There is a guided tour every hour. The castle is lovely decorated and the surroundings are relaxing and beautiful. There is a nice restaurant for lunch with a terrace at the courtyard. Little downside is the fact that there are lots of marriages held here so be sure to inform yourself when you go visit because some parts can be closed.

This old and very well kept castle is definitely worth a visit if you are in the southern area of Holland. The castle is surrounded by a moat and you are able to visit the inside of the castle on sundays and some other days as well. The surrounding area is great for a stroll to enjoy the country side. I would say this is a must see!

My family and I were staying in central Holland for vacation and we made Kasteel Heeswijk a must on our to-do list. Touring the castle in the off season means you have limited days to visit. Make sure you call or visit their website in advance, but when we toured it was open for visitors on Sunday and Wednesday.
We were given a personal docent-led tour of the Castle, moving through almost every room in the main building. I was personally fascinated with the history starting 1000 years ago, leading up to the 1960s.
The grounds are stunning, and the staff are extra friendly. Being English speakers there was some hesitation with providing the tour in English, but we were able to overcome that quite quickly. They treated my two small daughters like thier own. Even the food in their cafe was exceptional.
If you have a free afternoon and are near Den Bosch in central Holland, give yourself some time to visit this authentic Castle and manor.

Attended a wedding, which was absolutely beautiful! The entire estate is romantic. The grounds are well maintained, the staff is friendly and the castle itself pretty. We didn't take the official tour, but the wedding was held on the main floor and the lower floor along with the terrace area. Although the castle is smaller than one would vision for a castle, I would recommend visiting if you're into history and castles. :0)

My friend, daughter and I started our day with a visit to Kasteel Heeswijk. It was easy enough to find (with a satnav) and lots of parking is always helpful. It's not cheap, about 10euro per adult.
The staff inside the castle were lovely. We mentioned in passing to another tourist and an employee that we were on a castle road trip and that employee left and got us a map of all the castles on a 2016 "castle tour" list, which we really appreciated!
The castle itself is gorgeous on the inside. The chapel was beautiful as well. The gardens were fun to wander. And we enjoyed walking counter-clockwise once outside to see the castle from as many angles as possible.
Washrooms facilities were clean.
Well worth the visit!

Kasteel Heeswijk is a little, fairy castle in the south of the Netherlands. The main building and the small Italian garden are surrounded by water. The interiors are completely furnished, noteworthy are the Chinese dining room, the library with its big collection of history books, the sleeping rooms and the walls of the stairs covered with Dutch faience’s. An audio guide in English is available. All the staff is very kind. There is a little brasserie at the entrance but it was reserved for a private event that day. The visit is highly suggested.

It was a lovely friday when my husband and I decided to go here. Our son (3) was at school and we had some time on our hands. I always wanted to go, but never made the time for it. Until now. We took the guided tour, but you could also borrow a tablet and move around independently. For the kids the latter was rather attractive.
We had a lovely lady showing us the castle and telling al sorts of little details and we had a blast.
We could not see the big hall outside, because there was a wedding going on. But what a lovely venue!
We will certainly return here one day.

I visited Kasteel Heeswijk on a solo journey in early January 2019. It was a crisp and sunny day which made for perfect touring of the castle exterior and grounds. The drive to the Kasteel is quite scenic through a small village. Parking was free the day I visited and located close to the castle entrance. There may be additional parking that is a further walk away.
There were barely any tourists the day of my visit, I felt like I had the grounds practically to myself.

Beautiful castle! Definatly worth a visit. You need to pay to enter but if you are not keen on doing so you can just walk around and enjoy the scenery.
