Cinema city is a several cinemas complex in an old mall. The parking lot is a disaster, dark, unlit and very narrow, if you lucky enough to find a place and get down to the mall first thing you feel when the elevator doors open is the smell. The smell is a mix of used cooking oil, popcorn and fried fish, it will follow you everywhere. There are better cinemas in Tel Aviv.

We went to a work event here and enjoyed a small buffet breakfast and a movie afterwards.
All in all, the place looks much better than before, now that the renovations have ended.

Cinema City was a revolution in itself.
A Game changer in the culture environment in Israel and we were really addicted.
Wide and high back seats, places for your drinks and pop-corn, huge screens, room for your legs and the passing by.
Sound with real bass.
But this was 20 years ago.
Now it looks somehow old, the sound is often too loud and the picture is usually out of focus, at least most of the time.
Or may be it is the projectors that have to be replaced.
When I compare to their main competitor (don't know if I can write their name here) ...there is actually not much to compare.
The seats there are more comfortable, more space for your legs and a much much better picture.
The only advantage of Cinema City is in the City itself with the restaurants, shops and booths.
But as a Cinema or Movie Theater ...This not THE place any more.
Too bad, we had really good times.

A multi cinema complex with a small mall beside it.Most new films are shown here -sometimes the same date as international distribution. There is also a very good VIP cinema which includes a nice buffet before the film In addition they have recently opened a theatre

IT is not only about Movies there.
If you want to see a Movie with a sharp image, richness of colors, heat beating bass, enough room for your legs so they are not stepped on when one passes by you to reach his seat ...then go to Yes Planet at Ayalon Mall, 10 minutes away.
We did stop seeing movies in Cinema City because all the mentioned above .. .the price is the same ... So ... ?!

But then in Cinema city you have plenty of restaurants, and action, an ambiance, and ... and it is nice to be there and have a good time...
Much nicer than in Ayalon Mall...

So my bottom line: Pure Movie ? Not there but in the other one.
More than a movie, like the after movie drinks/meal/talks ... then this is the plce !

More than 20 movie theatres in one place. A lot of parking places.
There are a few restaurants (mainly fast food) and shops to pass the time until the movie starts, but don't go there if you're not planning to watch a movie.

This is a big cinema complex, which had known far better days in the mid 1990's, but now is much less good looking.
There's a construction process going on inside for many months now, so the entire place looks like a construction site.
Skip it, for now.
