Second visit to the common. A great place to stroll and see a good range of wildlife. Amazing butterflies and possibly the best site for Silver Wash Fritillarys. Dog friendly shame the car parking is a bit pricey and you have to pay by phone.
Great Bookham Common is a great place for hacking. Well maintained bridle ways. A couple of areas get rather boggy. But over all you can ride round the lakes without getting muddy in the winter months.
Just live around the corner and o ly occasionally really walked/cycled the common. Now have puppy in tow and loving it. So peaceful meet like minded people out walking. Very enjoyable andvust now at least several times a week.
Do visit Bookham Common if you get a chance! It's a National Trust reserve, with lots of different habitats encouraging lots of different wildlife. Great for families, kids and dogs, biking and horseriding - don't miss the bird hide too - great for a spot...More
Live locally, often walk in these woods. Many choices including around the lakes, paths fan out in a star in all directiions to Fetcham Effingham Junction, Downside, Bookham. Very handy for visitors arriving by train (Bookham) to step off the platform straight into the woods....More
