We were lucky enough to make the trek out to Somoto during a recent trip to Leon, as a group of five twentysomethings from Australia. Upon arrival we were greeted by the whole family who own and run the tour service, and they made us a quick breakfast of beans and rice. They helped one of our crew out with... More

Thanks, Shaun, for your comments and the positive experience it all was. It's definitely an adventure for the able-bodied. Many are surprised by how long they are in the water and not used to it, as well as the hiking! And of course, it is an adventure!!! We were concerned about your friend who caught a rock on one of... Guide only spoke spanish and nobody else on the tour did so I was pretty much the translator for the entire tour lol. Still a great guide though, he was pretty old but was jumping off rocks higher than some of the 20 somethings on the tour! The jumps are absolutely exhilerating, I still can't believe I jumped off the... More

We did the 6 hour tour with this company and really enjoyed it. Everything worked out well: Henry picked us up and made being on time a point; we were equipped and set out with Rigoberto. We kept talking all the time, and if people complain about too little information, then they might have to factor in that people simply... More

Wearing only a swimshort, a life jacket and some shoes, you find your way along Rio Coco either swimming or climbing. Some guides lead the way and allow you to jump high cliffs and make some fun. Best when weather is bit clouded but dry. The sun will burn you easily during the trip.

I loved the canyon. It was an awesome sight. Too bad I do not know anything about it. My guide said 3 sentences the whole tour. He also made fun of my weight and had issues when I had difficulty going up a hill. I also did not get a dry bag for my things that was part of the... More

The Somoto canyon tour was one of the best experiences we had in Nicaragua. We had a great English speaking guide - Joshua. We appreciated his English fluency so we could ask him lots of questions about life in Nicaragua. Swimming, floating and jumping in the canyon was so much fun. We did the 4 hour tour which was perfect.... More

We arranged our one night stay in the cabins and the 4 hour tour by email. Henry was at the bus station as promised, it was easy to spot him in his green Somoto Canyon Tour shirt and he is also quite tall. He gave us a ride to his place in his truck, which is situated on the Pan... More

Amazing experience. Was interested in the tour and reached out to Brian via email. He went above and beyond to give us a detailed description of how to get from Granada to Somoto within our budget. Once there, we stayed in cabins built for visitors right beside Henry's actual home. It felt like a homestay, eating at his home and... More

A group of friends and I took the Somoto Canyon 4 hour tour and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had!! We contacted the company before-hand and they were super flexible about our arrival time and didn't try to fit us into another tour/time. Our guide Uli was super friendly and professional - especially when it... More

We rented a car and drove to Somoto Canyon for the day. We decided to take the 4 hour tour with Somoto Canyon Tours and it was such a great decision. They were flexible with the timing of our tour and really easy to find (right on the side of the highway). They had everything they promised to provide. Only... More

Thank you for your review, Vaya, and expressing how much you enjoyed the tour. And thanks for the observation regarding the river shoes. We find most water shoes are not ideal for the walking part of the tour and that tennis shoes worn with socks are the most appropriate. However we will be replacing the worn ones which you unluckily... More
