We had an hour or so to kill so called into this place as we were passing. It is a really nice experience and one of the better shopping centres we have been to.

There are a few names of shops that we recognised by others that were unique. This gives a nice blend and a relaxed feel.

Parking is free and very easily available. There is a nice outdoor café, cashpoints and offices.

Ruisseau Creole is a shopping complex where the place is getting emptier day by day except for the restaurants. I stopped at "Le Kiosque" for a snack...last week and I regret it....for a single plate of chicken/chips & salad....it took them 55 mins to serve me. there must have been around 10 pieces of fries, a tiny spoonful of salad and 2 pieces of chicken....1 piece was absolutely raw...I sent it back to the cook who sent the same piece back to me after 10 mins( rapid microwaving....I suppose!!!) the cut had made and the piece I tasted were the same....at a place where I expect value for money they could've at least given me a fresh plate to cover up for the raw chicken. Owner- ask your girls to smile a bit & keep themselves fresh....the way they look- tired& annoyed/ no make up at all....makes you feel like-why the hell did I stop here? A snack at the supermarket cafe 200 meters a\way would've been far better.

Al Dente Restaurant
This restaurant is part of the Ruisseau Creole Complex. I have been to this restaurant about 8-10 times for both lunch and dinner due to the playroom for kids which is next door to the restaurant ( we have 2 kids of 2 & 4 years old) and the experience has been a mix ranging from poor to good but it never achieved this perfect level of food and service. My experience of our visit yesterday was abysmal. We booked a table for 1900 and arrived there at 1915 and the restaurant was 70% full with the only three waiters for nearly 100 seats running around trying to seat the clients, give them menus and take orders. I could see that it was chaotic as it looked like a previous experience we went through on the 26 December 2015 for my daughter's birthday and it was the same chaotic ambiance. However, we got to order by 1930 and our drinks came 15 mins after and the kids pizza turned up 10 mins after our drinks. We waited endlessly for our main course as we did not wish to have a starter and at 2005 a basket of bread with butter was served and the agonizing wait for our main course was painful to our stomach and nerves. Since the restaurant has an open kitchen separated by a glass, I could see that the kitchen staff were running out of steam and our waiter was hands on in the kitchen helping the kitchen staff to get our orders out and finally our food reached the table at 2020. What a disaster it was for 3 of the 4 main course ordered. One grilled fish with chips was too salty, the aubergines lasagne was cold and my osso buco which I ordered with spaghetti aglio e olio was served with spaghetti topped with tomato sauce and the osso buco was not up to the standard considering the price of the meal. The restaurant do claim that they have homemade pasta but the spaghetti I tasted yesterday was nothing of fresh homemade pasta. My wife complained to the waiter and eventually to the manager/owner and she blamed the kitchen staff and she came back with plain spaghetti for me and told me to add olive oil for my taste and it was completely what I did not order and I ended up ordering chips instead of the spaghetti. The aubergine lasagne was reheated in the microwave and the grilled fish was changed to a chicken escalope as my father in law was put off of the salty fish. It was a total and utter disgrace for a restaurant that charges high end prices and a shame on me as it was the first time my in laws was visiting this restaurant. The manager did give us a 25% discount on our bill but I personally think that the kitchen could not cope since the manager was greedy or had high opinion of the kitchen staff handling both take away orders at the same time when the restaurant was getting really busy. In the end, the food and service shall suffer and it did suffer. The waiters tried to apologize but it was already a bitter experience once again during a busy time. My advice if you have to eat at Al Dente is to avoid if they are busy but if they are not, you could eat an average Italian in Riviere Noire.

This shopping area never really got off the ground. Other than a few restaurants and the barber shop everything else is very disappointing.

We’ve been there 4 times and always get out angry, the staff is bad, never smiling, barely say hello and goodbye. They always have something wrong with the order and talking about the food this restaurant would make Italians ashamed! Too dry, too much sauce, no taste. Have to add lots of salt and pepper to be able to eat. But event that compared to the staff attitude is ok... anyway just don’t go there it’s a waste of time and money! You want good pizza and pasta? Go to Cosa Nostra on the main road you will be very satisfied! I’m honestly surprised that Al Dente is still open...

We were there for lunch and the best thing on the table was the wine from Italy. We had ordered a tuna carpaccio and a palm heart salad, both dishes were absolutely tasteless. The pizza oven is also used to prepare meat and fish dishes, very strange. Since you can watch the "cooks" in the open kitchen you quickly understand that they have no idea what they are doing. Very disappointing restaurant.

The mall is nice to stroll, it is opened and for Mauritius it is a real advantage. The shops are great, with a big choice of very original ranges. My favorites: Out of the blue for swimsuits and Nisatho for shoes and accessories. I recommend. A quick stop at the restaurant Al Dente to finish. Pizzas made the happiness of kids (who could play in the games room) and parents.

I feel cheated!
I was told it was from Spain, see label 'P R C' when asked where the garment was from. I was in somewhat of a hurry as i had people waiting for me.

La Mivole shopping. Ask for tax refund form. In couple of souvenir shops in Mauritius they forgot to inform you than you can get back your VAT at the airport. If you plan to spend some money on souvenirs, clothes or alcohol (eg local rum) it may be important. Tax refund procedure at the International Airport is easy and extremely friendly for tourist.
