Excellent walk

Excellent walk if you like to see the coastal sea birds in they're natural habitat. Take a pair of binoculars to get the full experience from this coastal walk

Beautiful Beach and Sceenery is fabulous one of the most peaceful beautiful place I have been to.I couldn't walk very far as I am disabled. However, I would love to come back next year with a mobility scooter so I could see more and go further. The coastal path would have been ideal to use a scooter.i will have to start saving for next year now.

Great views
Aug 2019
We walked from Ffynnongroyw to Talacre on this coastal path. Not many people about. Some great views of dee estuary and wide footpaths. I suspect it could do worth a bit more advertising!?

Really nice walk with the dogs on a pet friendly beach
Feb 2019 • Family
This was our first time at Point of Ayr and we would definitely go back. It was a two hour drive but is our closet beach and worth the drive. Quite steep sand dunes to get across but then miles of lovely beach with plenty of bins and spots for a stop off and picnic. Boardwalks and path walks through the dunes make it a lovely day out. The carpark was a good price but just missing toilets really. There are some in the village but two of the three were out of order and the other not pleasant but all beach facilities great

Birdwatching, Picnic, Dunes, Cup of tea
Feb 2019 • Friends
Lovely day at Point of Ayr, birdwatching as the tide came in we spotted lapwings, curlews, cormorants, redshanks and more. Lovely walk from the reed beds to the northern beach and dunes. Brought a picnic and ate on a bench looking out to sea.
Interesting industrial history- the gas refinery stands on the old coal mine site and you can look across to the Wirral and beyond. Bring binoculars. Had a quick cup of tea in the restaurant. Really nice day.

Wonderful day out for all the family, educational and highly enjoyable. Learn some of the very rich history of the area. Enjoy the wild fauna and flora. Spot the colourful Burnett caerpillars, find the pyramid orchids and be amazed at the variety of it all. Find good food and refreshments, and enjoy.

Mile after mile
Sep 2018 • Couples
Mile upon mile of dog friendly beach and sandhills with views across the Dee estuary to the Wirral and on a clear day all the way to Blackpool. Alsorts of flotsam and jetsam along with relics from the areas past are littered all over if you take the time to explore, be a bit carefull of the quicksand s when the tide is well out and a little patch near the abandoned lighthouse.
