Well preserved and easy to get to. Definitely eat at the stalls outside if you're craving home cooked food.

These ruins and the surrounding forest have a mysterious and enchanting vibe. I usally don't hire guides, but I did this time, and it was well worth it. He explained some aspects of its history I would have forgotten or not known about. He took me into the jungle as well to get a much better sense of just how... More

Very impressive place with a mysterious atmosphere in the middle of a forest. For me one of the best ruins in Mexico.

They... More

On a 2 weeks trip through Mexico and Guatemala we sofar visited the Maya ruins at Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Tikal and Palenque. Altough it is near impossible to rate them, Palenque stands out as a close to perfect fusion between Culture and Nature. Apart from the great pyramids, palaces and other Maya structures, we've spotted several spectacular birds... More
