Palenque ruins itself are great, you can enter into a ruin, climb other ones, they are well restored. THE PROBLEM: to reach Palenque ruins there is only ONE road, unfortunately, in the SOUTH of Mexico (Oaxaca, Chiapas, probably Campeche and surroundings) , the local communities...More

Great but go early to beat heat. The collectivos work well. The ones we took were air conditioned and for 20 pesos were great value

Very beautiful ruins - really worth the long journey. Make sure to get a guide - it is worth it. But shop around - some of the guides are very expensive.

As with some of the other ruins in the area, Palenque is far quieter than more popular ruins, so you can move around at your own pace taking it all in. It’s quite a large site still and very well preserved. You can go onto...More

We booked a private tour of the ruins for after the park shut and all vendors and visitors had cleared the site. It's expensive but hugely worth it to get the feel of these unbelievable ruins in the quiet of the jungle as the sun...More

Very nice trip to the ruines. We spent about 2,5 hours walking. Very nice views on top of the buildings. Great. Collectivo from Palenque costs about 40 peso’s return. Entrance 105 peso (35 to enter the national park and 70 to enter the ruines).

Having already visited the ruins in Tulum, we went to Palenque expecting something similar and were pleasantly surprised. The ruins at Palenque are stunning, with interesting and really informative panels in Spanish and English next to every construct. Being able to climb the ruins is...More

Beautiful Palenque is located 10 minutes from Palenque's city center. Don't forget to visit the museum adjacent to the site. The ruins and site are well kept and the experience was wonderful. It is a must see!

Worth a couple of nights stay in Palenque so good that they are leaving most temples covered so that the jungle survives

You may try reaching out to: Mayatur in Palenque. You'll find them with a simple search, TA doesn't allow the link. They were a very helpful and affordable tour company in the town of Palenque. Took a couple days to hear... More
