Here could be a bit of our history but I guess no one is interested in restoring anything (no return on investment) and not enuff travellers to visit. One could imagine some of the asbestos sheeting is going to be removed and that could be...More

I went thinking the place would have something to really see. Nothing, the place has been left to die. Was once a great place to visit.

I’m sure one day this WW2 airfield will be recognised for its contribution to Australia’s war history. In the meantime there is very little to see here. Best to put a few more hours in at the pub.

Although the landing strip is probably OK you are not allowed anywhere near it. The only area you can legally access is near the Hangar and the area is completely overgrown.

As we were visiting Daly Waters we headed out to the aviation precinct. Unfortunately, it is pretty well closed and very rundown. Very disappointed after visiting it 3 years previously.

A good stop whilst enjoying the Daly Waters Pub & environs. The airfield was built in 1928 and has the oldest hangar in the NT built in 1930. It is the site of Australia first International Airport with Qantas & other airlines using it from...More
