Great local beach

Lovely clean beach, adequate amenities like fab cafe, toilets and parking, but have to pay. And in summer we have Lifeguards to.

Westgate-on-sea is a quintessential little British beach side resort with none of the fairground arcade attractions that seem to take over our seasides these days. Rows of little beach huts line the promenade along the sea wall and the beach is within easy walking distance from the train station. The waters here are safe and clean with a sandy beach.... More

We walk here every day, on the beach at low tide, along the promenade at high tide. Such a pretty coastline with rock pools, shallow water. Sometimes with a lolly or an ice cream in hand, sitting on the wall, holding hands I feel 7 again not 70!

Quiet and unspoilt beach, we love coming here. When the tide is out you can enjoy lovely walks on the beach and watch the day go by, perfect!

This bay is always so quiet and peaceful. It is a Blue Flag beach and people with dogs are very respectful. I love it when the waves crash over the sea wall in the winter. You have to run between them to avoid getting wet. Beautiful in summer too.

Stopped off at St Mildred's Bay to show my children where I used to go on holiday as a child - it hadn't changed much- still a safe sandy beach with the backdrop of chalky cliffs - those were the days!

St Mildred's Bay is a beautiful, quiet (at this time of year, at least) and unspoiled beach. Dog friendly, with rock pools and shallow paddling for kids. 'Pav's Cafe' offers cheap cooked breakfasts. Short walk to Margate, even shorter to Westgate. Loved it!

I recently reviewed Westbrook beach, which is about a mile West of St Mildred's Bay. This beach differs in that when the tide comes in, the sand is covered, so you don't get the dry soft sand that people prefer to sit on. Saying that, If you don't like dry sand, because it gets into your shoes, bottom and dog,... More

Lovely dog walk along the sea front lovely clean beach with a cafe right there. The kids love it there is free parking a nice clean sandy beach and a good long walk for the dog along the sea top. Westgate town is really close so you can get a train or visit the shops if needed
