On our way to the airport just past this Monastery in the village of Sazava. A tour just started, though in Czech language but we were given a detailed booklet in English. It was founded in the 11th century by Procopius (later became saint) and later turned into a Benedictine monastery with Slavic liturgy which was changed Latin by the end of the 11th century. Lots of frescos on the walls and some elements of the old, original structure of the monastery though, the old parts is being under reconstruction and scaffolding to give it back its former glory. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it, Cesky Sternberk Castle is just about a half an hour drive. …
