Big, clean sandy beach which can get a little busy, but is large enough to take the crowds.
Parking is pretty good. If you can’t get a spot in the town, there’s a big car park just outside (bit of a walk, mind).

I love to visit this beach, even during the summer holidays in August it wasn't crowded and it was easy to find a nice spot to settle for the day. The sand is clean and the water is clear and it stays fairly shallow for...More
This beach was well worth the journey from Montpellier. A scenic, relaxed and family friendly beach away from the crowds. If you can get to Le Franqui, you won't regret it. Note restaurants tended to close for part of the afternoon.
Walk from "Pharre" to La Franqui along the cilffs. When you get to La Franqui, you can watch Kite Surfers and Windsurfers training for fitness. The beach down there is endless. Don't forget to visit "Le Golf" for a Pizza with goat chees and honey...More

As far as I know, La Franqui is completely open for Dogs (it's a Surfers Paradise). On Leucate its Different: the main beaches are closed. But besides there are wide beach areas between Leucate Village and Port Leucate that are Open. The Nudist beaches are closed for dogs. The beaches of Port Leucate and Le Bacares I don't know.
