- Mike FernandoKandy, Sri Lanka247 contributionsBakers Falls, Knuckles Mountain RangeIt certainly was an awesome experience, one that I would never want to miss and would go again many times if time permits. I went with my family and friends, starting from Kandy and went by a friend's mini van. The journey from Kandy to Baker’s Falls in the Knuckles Mountain Range was a captivating adventure through some of Sri Lanka’s most stunning landscapes. Starting from Kandy, we traveled through lush tea plantations and picturesque villages to reach the Knuckles Mountain Range. As we approached the Knuckles Mountain Range, the scenery became even more dramatic with dense forests, mist-covered peaks, and cascading waterfalls. The hike to Baker’s Falls is a highlight, offering a moderate trail that winds through the heart of the Knuckles. The falls themselves was a beautiful sight, with water tumbling down a series of rocky steps into a clear pool below. This trek not only provides breathtaking views but also a chance to experience the diverse flora and fauna of the region. It’s a perfect blend of natural beauty and adventure, making it a must-do for nature lovers and hikers alike.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 25, 2024

Was it a place you usually swim and bathe? We did not know and I still do not know, but a dip we took nevertheless. Risky, perhaps, fun nevertheless. I wouldn't advice others to do so, but thought would share few pics here from our trip, for those who seek interestimg waterfalls to visit, and bathe.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 17, 2024

The 22m Baker’s Falls (sinhalese : Gonagala Ella) is noted for the tremendous noise created by water pounding the large rock formation at its foot. Forming part of the Belihul Oya, it is surrounded by copious giant ferns.

It took us about 2 hours to reach Baker's Falls from the entrance of the park. It's a nice place to take a break and freshen up during the trek.

My partner and I visited the falls whilst touring the country. This is a beautiful area and great if you enjoy walking. Wear comfortable walking shoes and set off early to avoid crowds. There are some good photos to take. There are toilets and free parking.

We started just after breakfast since there is a long way to walk. It is about 9km walk from the park entrance. Wonderful, spectacular waterfall and it is worth walking all the way down to see it.
