Gosh this has been missed, and we happen to arrive for a walking, eating and drinking few days one the first night back in the bar. Great music, great beer, great craic and a sign of normality. Well done John.

Pub visit
Aug 2021 • Couples
Recently visited this pub and was met with a very friendly welcome from bar staff. During are visit my wife lost her phone and we went 10,000ft due to the sentimental value of the content of it. Barman was polite, curteous and helpful.(sorry dont know his name young man with a tash) Even a lady outside the co op checked the local facebook page to help. What an amazing pub, staff and community we will be back if you would have us !!!!!! Phone located and no dramas thank you St Just

HORRIBLE staff
Jul 2021
Tuned up after England's win in the Euros semi-finals, very happy and wanting a pint and to celebrate with the locals as the pub was still lively and seemed friendly. Upon entry we were rudely dismissed with "You're not getting a drink here" and effectively told to leave, despite the pub being busy and serving drinks to other customers. A large group of locals were admitted in front of us but my partner and I were turned away like trash. I am shocked and so upset by the experience. Never going back again, and unless you were born and bred in St Just Cornwall I recommend you STEER CLEAR. Totally unwelcoming, and a humiliating experience. 0/10

Best pizza in England
Jun 2021
We visited this pub to watch football as we could not get a table anywhere else, and we definitely have not regret it! A warm, family atmosphere of the place was incredible and the pizza was the best proper pizza I have had in England! Definitely recommend.

Proper pub.
Dec 2020
Has to be one of my favourite pubs.

Have always been made to feel welcome by the landlord and all the staff and the locals are a joy, with most of them actively seeking to have a chat about whatever happens to be the topic that day. Beer has always been good and there is a nice little covered area at the back where we prefer to sit with the dog. Dogs are allowed in and one occasion when it was cold we were ushered in to sit by the fire because the girl behind the bar thought that Hugo was looking cold.
They don't do food but suggested to us that if we wanted to go and get fish and chips that it would be ok to eat them at our table.
If you are visiting St Just pop in to this pub and have a drink and enjoy the experience of a proper pub just as you remember way back when.

Pit Stop!

Pit stop!
Dropped in here for drinks with our daughters during our stay in Cornwall. Being April 2021 we were still in partial lockdown so seating was outside only. Unfortunately the weather was cold and windy otherwise it would have been a very pleasant experience.
There was a busy friendly vibe with many locals passing the time of day and catching up with one another, we were made very welcome and will definitely be back.

Family lunch

We arrived without a booking and found this little gem. Very nice staff and a great table by a roaring fire with a nice dog blanket and water bowl. Beer was lovely and so was the food.

Traditional cozy pub
Oct 2020 • Couples
Called in for a couple of pints early evening. Friendly young barman welcomed us. Standing away from the electric cattle fence and the bar we chose a couple of beers from their good range of St.Austell real ales. One Best and a Proper job. Both excellent. There was a good young group in who made us feel welcome. We stayed for another.

This pub is a jem. A proper pub where we were made to feel very welcome, as if we'd been drinking here for years. Highly recommended.

the locals recommend this pub, obvious why as soon as you enter. friendliest post lockdown pub while abiding by all the rules and even adding one of their own, you have to see that one for yourself. everywhere in st just was excellent but the star did stand out for me. the tribute ale was perfect as well.
